Origins Flower Fusion Sheet Masks

When I think of face masks, Origins is probably the first brand that comes to mind. Whether it is a purifying or hydrating mask, they just seem to get it right. Sheet masks are really popular at the moment and when I learned about the Origins Flower Fusion Sheet Masks release, I couldn’t wait to see them in stores.

The masks have been insipired by the naturally radiant beauty of florals and they aim to help providing an instant boost of radiance and dewy moisture. The masks are made of natural Bamboo which makes them very soft and are formulated with pure flower extracts and essential oils. They all smell lovely as you’d expect. There are 6 types in total: Jasmine, Lavender, Orange, Raspberry, Rose and Violet. I’ve tried 5 of them because Rose never seems to be available but I keep trying to get my hands on it. Each mask is sold separately in individual packaging.
It’s suggested to leave the masks on for about 10 minutes after cleansing and toning but I often turn them over after this and use them for 10 more. Then I’d massage in what’s left from the essence and continue with my evening moisturiser. I wouldn’t say they’re expensive at the price of 55 kr but they’re not the most affordable ones out there.

Origins Flower Fusion Rose Hydrating Sheet Mask
A rose infused sheet mask that hydrates the skin and is rich in Vitamin C to leave skin smooth and bright. Like I mentioned above, it’s the only one I haven’t tried yet.

Origins Flower Fusion Violet Nourishing Sheet Mask
A mask rich in antioxidant Vitamins A and C with a violet infusion that acts to hydrate, calm and brighten the skin. I feel like this is a very gentle one even for those of us with combination and problematic skin.

Origins Flower Fusion Jasmine Softening Sheet Mask
A jasmine infused and scented mask that soothes and hydrates the skin leaving it silky soft and smooth. To me, this mask is great for a weekly boost of hydration no matter what your skin type is.

Origins Flower Fusion Lavender Soothing Sheet Mask
A lovely relaxing and brightening mask. I find it’s great applying it before bed as the scent is very calming. Lavender is antiseptic, so this is a good one for those of you with sensitive or irritated skin, it also helps reduce redness.

Origins Flower Fusion Raspberry Refreshing Sheet Mask
This is my favourite mask when my skin gets a bit more oily in the hot days. It’s indeed refreshing and bursting with vitamins and antioxidants.

Origins Flower Fusion Orange Radiance-Boosting Sheet Mask
Zesty, awakening, refreshing… I used this mask for the first time before going to a concert in the evening and I got a beautiful healthy glow, my makeup applied really nicely afterwards and I felt great. The most brightening one of them all, this mask is perfect to use in the long winter days or when your complexion is a bit dull and you want to bring your skin back to life.

I honestly cannot say anything bad about these sheet masks, I actually love them because they’re a quick fix in some of my not so good skin days, they smell lovely and I can easily find them around me.

Brand Focus: L’Occitane en Provence

IMG_0035post

I learned about L’Occitane en Provence some years ago thanks to my boyfriend. He knows that I’m a lip balm addict so he got me a present – a whole bunch of lip balms, all from L’Occitane. They were amazing! (I still keep some of the tubes as you can see below…sweet memories). Through the years I got to know more of their products and step by step, L’Occitane turned into one of my favourite brands. My blog isn’t very popular so as you can guess I’m not paid to write this post, I just decided to share with you what I like most from the brand and maybe you can tell me what I’ve missed. So, here are my favourite picks with no particular order.

1. Lip balms.

IMG_9262post

Have to start with them because they’re the first thing that made me fall in love with the brand. The white tube is their most popular Moisturizing Certified Organic Shea Lip Balm and also my all-time favourite lip balm. If you suffer from extremely dry and chapped lips, you’ve tried everything and it didn’t work, look this way. The colourful ones are from a limited edition and they were Desert Rose Lip Balm, Hibiscus Flower Lip Balm and Cocoa Flower Lip Balm. All of them are having 10% shea butter and are amazing.

2. Shower oil.

Is there anybody that hasn’t heard of the Almond Shower Oil? It won’t be exaggerating if I say that it’s the best shower oil in the world because it really is. Smells fantastic, leaves your skin smooth and soft and you don’t even need a moisturiser after going out of the shower.

3. Body and hair care.

IMG_9278post

Here I’m showing a small part of my travel essentials – the Aromachologie Repairing Conditioner and the Ultra Rich Body Lotion. I keep them in travel sizes because when I’m on the way my hair and skin are more stressed than ever and these products are giving me the nourishing I need. And of course the lovely Rose 4 Reines Body Milk! Wonderful texture and great for moisturising. I’m using it after my evening shower and on the next morning, I’m waking up to the beautiful rose scent which lasts forever.

I’m also including the soaps although I’m using them only on my hands but I wanted to mention them because some are exfoliating but they exfoliate your skin very gently and they’re hydrating your body as well. Also, they’re very pretty and I’ve noticed that people like them as a gift.

4. Hand creams. IMG_9280post I use both of the hand creams on the picture together because the one on the right is the Immortelle Brightening Hand Care SPF20 which gives you the protection but for bigger hydration I apply the Shea Butter Subtle Violet Hand Cream (it was a limited edition) before the brightening one. Of course you can use them separately. Another hand cream that I love but isn’t on the picture is the Cherry Blossom Hand Cream, wonderful…just wonderful!

5. The Angelica range

There are only two products from the range on the picture but the whole Angelica series is fantastic if you have oily/combination skin. The Ultra Matte Fluid is going to keep you shine-free all day long when you apply it before your primer or use it as a primer. There isn’t anything else that has helped me so much. The eye roll-on is giving you a refreshing feeling, you can use it night and or/day, I store mine in the fridge and apply it in the mornings.

The Land of Roses

IMG_9951post

I’m coming from a country known as ‘The Land of Roses’ because it’s producing rose essential oil in a region called ‘The Valley of Roses’.

The country is Bulgaria and the Bulgarian rose essential oil is one of the most expensive products sold all over the world. We call it ‘liquid gold’ there. In the last years along with the rose products that exports, Bulgaria is also one of the biggest lavender exporters.

June is the month when the rose petals are hand-picked, it’s happening at dawn because it’s believed that at this time of the day the concentration of the oil is highest. To produce 1 kg of rose oil containing 100% organic ingredients, you need between 3000 and 5000 kg of flowers, grown in environmentally clean areas without any use of pesticides and other chemicals which explains the price.
Rose essential oil is produced by a water distillation process and is used mainly for production of perfumes.

I’m not coming from that region but as a Bulgarian, I’ve learned the benefits of rose products years ago. I’ve been using rose water in my skincare routine for a very long time and I’d like to share with you how it can help your skin feel and look healthy.

First of all, rose water is a byproduct of the distillation process. It has a very light rose scent.

Nowadays many products are having rose water as an ingredient. But for me personally, it’s even better when I use it pure.

The rose water is an incredibly gentle product, it’s suitable for all skin types and even for sensitive skin. I use it mainly as a toner after cleansing my face. You can also spray it throughout the day to freshen your skin.
The rose water is a source of antioxidants and vitamins. It’s maintaining the hydro-lipid balance of the skin, stimulates cells regeneration and prevents the signs of aging such as wrinkles.
It has anti-septic, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties which makes it perfect for blemish-prone skin and oily/combination skin. It soothes irritated skin. You can also use it on cuts or sunburn for example, because of the anti-septic effect, it won’t even sting, I promise.
People with dry skin can use rose water to moisturise their face.

Rose water is making your skin soft and clean. If the annoying mascara is not going away even after double-cleansing, just put some drops of rose water on a cotton pad and rest it on the eyelashes for some seconds. Wipe gently all your face and neck and if there’s anything left from makeup or dirt, it will disappear.

Sometimes when my eyes are very tired, I just put some of the rose water (you can also keep it in the fridge for a fresher experience) on cotton pads, lay down, leave it on my eyes and just relax. It’s also reducing eye puffiness.

It’s not impossible to make rose water at home but unfortunately there is only one rose type suitable for this, so you can’t just buy roses randomly and expect wonders.

I hope that this post will help you discover or re-discover the benefits of rose water because it’s a wonderful multi-purpose skincare product.

Nuxe Micellar Foam Cleanser with Rose Petals

Image

I don’t change my skincare routine often because I tend to get breakouts even if I include/exclude only one product. Also, I’m not quite sure how my face feels about foam cleansers because most of them leave my skin oilier than usual. However, I saw this one about a month ago in one of the pharmacies here and it was presented as a new product. Probably it’s just new for the market here cause I’ve seen it before.

It’s my favourite foam cleanser so far. It’s very gentle, soap-free, soothes and softens the skin. It’s suitable for normal to combination sensitive skin. I did get breakouts after the first couple of times using it but soon after that everything was back to normal. Has light rose scent and it’s not as thick as other foam cleansers.

One pump is enough to clean your face day and/or night, I use it only in the morning.

This is the first Nuxe product that I’m trying and I like it very much. Can’t wait to check some other products from them, especially their super famous lip balm.
