Valencia Beauty Haul | Sephora, Pharmacy, Online Purchases

Before heading to Valencia, I didn’t think of getting any beauty products there, it didn’t cross my mind, at all. I was just dreaming of long walks in the sun, enjoying the palm trees, the flowers and the oranges that you can see everywhere in the city.

But then I passed by Sephora… and went inside. I was thinking that I hadn’t ordered any beauty items since March, so I just wanted to take a look. I usually order from the US Sephora but shipping and taxes are insane and many brands can’t be shipped out to Europe, so I’m always happy to see brands that are available mainly (if not only) in the US.

I’m turning into a big Farmacy fan, I’ve tried a few of their products and I was really hoping to see their sunscreen in Spain but unfortunately, they said you can’t find it in Europe, at all. So, I picked up their Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm, hoping that it would be the first cleansing balm that I’d like. Somehow cleansing balms always break me out, feel heavy and leave a residue. So far, I’ve found only a couple of cleansing oils that perform well on my skin which makes me think that balms and oils just aren’t for me and I really want this one to prove me wrong.
After stocking up on the Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Liquid a couple of months ago, now we got the Cream in full size. My boyfriend and I have mini version of the whole range and we both love the cream and the liquid, so we decided to get the original size. I was really surprised, considering my boyfriend’s dry skin and my combination type but it’s nice that one product can be good on several skin types. It’s a really hydrating moisturiser, it helps skin’s natural barrier properties and gives a plump look to it. Then I picked up two sheet masks because I wanted to try a few more from TONYMOLY, as I really liked their Tomato one. Actually, I don’t use sheet masks that often but the two that I got were the Seaweed one that should be purifying and the Orange Sheet Mask that is supposed  to be brightening and refreshing.
I have to say, the section with the minis is the part I’m mostly excited about whenever I’m in Sephora, I just can’t help it, I’m always curious to see all the travel size products. From the display there, I picked up another Beautyblender. I don’t use foundation that often nowadays but I like to have a backup of this makeup sponge, it’s the best tool for base application that I’ve found.
When I saw the mini of the Phyto Phytoelixir Intense Nutrition Mask, I had to have it. I was looking for a treatment for my ends and this mini seemed great to try and see how it works. I’ve used it only once, so far but I really like it. It’s rich but doesn’t weigh down the hair and doesn’t feel heavy or greasy. It also has a beautiful scent and gives shine to the hair. I think they had a mini of the oil from the same range, as well and now I regret not picking that one up, too.
I think I screamed a little bit when I saw the Supergoop! Everyday Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50! I’ve always been curious about the brand’s sunscreens but they were impossible to get in Europe. The only product that they had in Valencia was this mini but it was enough for me to get excited, I haven’t tried it yet but I’ll be soon sharing thoughts on it for sure.

In the near of Sephora they had this amazing pharmacy filled with all types of brands, some of them were Spanish ones and I feel bad for not reading a bit more beforehand because now I regret not purchasing some of their products. Hopefully next time! At least I got the Heliocare Color Gelcream SPF 50 in Light and I couldn’t be happier. I know that I’ve used it only a couple of times but I think I might have found my new favourite tinted sunscreen. It doesn’t break me out and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin, it leaves a bit of a dewy finish but nothing too shiny or greasy. It has a slight tint to it that actually gives pretty good coverage without being thick or masking. The technology that Heliocare are using works against premature ageing, cellular damage, hyperpigmentation and weakening the skin’s natural barrier function. I can’t wait to start wearing it on a regular basis and I already want to try to find a backup.
I couldn’t miss getting a giant 300 ml bottle of the Avène thermal water spray, I always have a few at home and a mini in my bag, especially in the summer.
A few months ago I tried to order the Caudalie Grape Water because I’ve been curious about the brand for so long but somehow I never got the chance to try it. Unfortunately, the customs considered the package dangerous and it never got to me, so I finally picked up a bottle of it. However, the display at the pharmacy was so pretty that I wanted to get something else from Caudalie but I wasn’t sure what. Then I noticed this travel set that contains Micellar Cleansing Water, Premier Cry Eye Cream, Vinosource Moisturising Sorbet, Hand & Nail Cream and Lip Conditioner, a beautiful little selection.

When I came back home I noticed one of my orders had arrived. I purchased three products that everyone talks about, so I wanted to see for myself if they’re really that good. COSRX have a great range of skincare, I use some of their products and I really like them, so I decided to try their Low pH Morning Gel Cleanser and the AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid. I’ve heard so many positive reviews on them that I can’t wait to put them to the test.
It’s been years since I first started trying to get my hands on the Bioré Aqua Rich Water Essence SPF 50+ and I always failed. This is probably my most desired sunscreen, I’ve always wanted to know why it is so special and I hope I’m soon going to find out. The only concern for me is that many say it’s too drying but I just hope my skin would like this sunscreen. I might need to get some of the Missha ones next because I feel like I’m on a mission to find the most lightweight, non-greasy but still effective sunscreen that doesn’t clog pores. It’s actually really difficult and whenever it comes to spf products, I envy my mum and my boyfriend with their dry skin and how much they enjoy applying sun creams, looking like they’ve just washed their faces, clean and pure while I’m just shiny and my pores get clogged.

I’m quite pleased with myself this time, I’d normally behave like a child in a candy store but I feel like my beauty shopping this time was not so out of control, I got products that I really need or I’ve been wanting to try for a long time. Now to the fun part, trying them all out… one by one, of course.

London Beauty Haul | Spring 2016

DSC_0088post DSC_0089post DSC_0094postWhen I’m lucky to go to London, I always have a list with beauty purchases that I’d like to make. It’s pretty easy to find high-end brands in Norway but there are so many high-street gems in the UK and only there that I have to admit, I feel jealous. Plus, they always have amazing offers and you end up getting a lot for half price or even for free. So, here’s what I found mainly in Boots and Superdrug.

I really wanted to try the new Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Jelly Moisturiser with Extract of Berry as I like a few products from the original series but they had a 3 for 2 going on, so I also picked up the matching Refreshing Jelly Facial Wash and the Body Scrub.
Superdrug also had some interesting-looking new skincare products and I stocked up on their famous Simply Pure Hydrating Serum for sensitive skin, the Clearly Youthful Triple Action Cleanser/Mask/Scrub with AHAs and BHAs and the Naturally Radiant Glycolic Overnight Peel with Plant Extracts. I just can’t wait to try these skincare products, everyone raves about them!
I’ve never tried the La Roche-Posay‘s Serozinc and I’ve heard so many positive reviews on it that I had to get a bottle of it. I love face mists and I hope this will be great on my combination skin. Speaking of mists, I was looking for the L’Occitane Perfecting Mist with Peony Extract for weeks and I’m really happy I finally found it. Another La Roche-Posay product that I wanted to try was the Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser and although I wasn’t sure if I needed another cleanser at that moment, it had such a big discount that I couldn’t help myself.
A few of the LUSH stores attracted me with their colourful displays and I had to take some of their soaps, they just smell amazing! I also picked up the Mint Julips Lip Scrub because my lips were pretty dry after the flights and their Bubblegum Lip Scrub is a favourite of mine, so I decided to try this one.
On the way back, I noticed this cute little set from Neal’s Yard Remedies at the airport and since I’ve always been curious about the brand, I decided to take it. It contains a sachet of their Rejuvenating Frankincense Refining Cleanser and minis of their White Tea Facial Mist, White Tea Enriching Facial Mask, Wild Rose Beauty Balm and Beauty Sleep Concentrate. Seems like a great skincare travel set.

Skincare and body products are the ones I tend to get more of when I travel somewhere and once again, the make-up purchases aren’t that many but they’re still pretty exciting to me. I believe we now have the Max Factor Creme Puff Blushes in Norway but I saw so many girls picking them up in London that I took one to try, I fell in love with it and came back for two more. The ones I have are in 15 Seductive Pink, 30 Gorgeous Berries and 10 Nude Mauve. If you haven’t tried them, you should, they are stunning and I regret not trying them before but better late than never.
When I went to London last year, the Collection Eyes Uncovered palettes were sold out everywhere. This time, I managed to find a couple of them but I still couldn’t get my hands on all I wanted. Still, I’m happy I saw them in Nude and Nude Rose but they should protect them somehow, considering how easy it is to open them. You could see fingerprints on most of the palettes although they were not testers which isn’t very pleasant.
Make-up fixing sprays were never something that I was drawn to but I’m always curious when a drugstore brand creates a product that is believed to be a high-end territory. And L’Oreal Infallible Fixing Mist is indeed a great product, I used it a few times and my make-up looked much better than usual at the end of the day.
Maybelline Lash Sensational was basically thrown into my basket by the lady working at Superdrug because of the offers they had and I thought it was finally time for me to try this hyped up mascara.
The purchase of Soap and Glory Archery 2-in-1 Brow Filling Pencil and Brush is standard for me, it’s my favourite eyebrow pencil, I can’t find it anywhere else, so I picked up a few of them because my mum loves it, as well.
My plans involved a lot of Rimmel purchases but at the end I found only two items I wanted. Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush in 010 Santa Rose is a beautiful and natural-looking shade, I think it would be great for spring and summer. Plus, it’s so tiny and perfect for travelling.
I’ve always been a fan of Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder but I never had it in 001 Transparent, so this was the time to pick it up.

Body and Hair
Body washes are something I really love and have to have tons of because I use them up quite quickly. Original Source Limited Edition Wild Cherry and Nettle Body Wash and Imperial Leather Summer Days Nourishing Body Wash with Shea Butter & Honeysuckle are body washes that I haven’t seen and haven’t tried, they smelled amazing and I had to take them.
L’Occitane always have amazing and adorable sets and I picked up these hand cream miniatures Amande Delicious Hands with Almond Milk and Delightful Rose Hand Cream which are perfect to carry around in your bag.
Marie Claire had three different scents of Neal’s Yard Remedies hand creams in their May issue. I couldn’t track down the Garden Mint & Bergamot one but I got the Geranium & Orange Hand Cream and the Bee Lovely to Your Hands Hand Cream.
I really needed some hair treatments now that my hair is longer than ever, so I saw the new Garnier Ultimate Blends The Strength Restorer Serum with Honey Bee Propolis and because I like some of the products from the series, I decided to add it to my shopping basket. Also, TRESemmé Keratin Smooth 7 Day Smooth System Heat Activated Treatment has always been on my shopping list and I finally found it.
COLAB is now available in Norway and although it’s three times the price in the UK, it’s stil a bit easier to get it. However, there’s just a limited number of their products on the market here. I picked up a mini of the Sheer + Invisible New York Dry Shampoo, a full size Sheer + Invisible London Dry Shampoo and Extreme Volume Monaco Dry Shampoo and last but not least, the Luxe Shine Glossing Hair Fragrance which I’m incredibly curious about.

After picking up dozens of nail polishes last time, this time I limited myself to just one range and it had to be from Barry M. I got a couple of their new Coconut Infusion Nail Paint polishes the first day and then got back for two more and two more… The shades that I have are in Starfish, Sunkissed, Tiki Hut, Flamingo, Aloha, Surfboard and Bikini and I’m missing only two that complete the range.

Lottie London Soap Star Solid Brush Cleanser was in every girl’s shopping basket (sorry, girls, I’m always curious what is popular in the city) and it’s believed to be a dupe for the Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser. Many said that it’s even better!
I also picked up the Real Techniques 2 pack Miracle Complexion Sponges and as you can see one of them is already in use, I love this sponge and I’m a bit sad I didn’t pick up more. They are now available in Norway but we don’t have the 2 pack one.
Now, I never wear falsies but these Eylure Fleur de Force Fleur Loves Eyelashes looked so beautiful that I justified my purchase with: ”I can only get them here!”.

London is amazing for beauty shopping (and not only) and I’m looking forward to trying all these products!

Munich Beauty Haul

DSC_0365post DSC_0368post DSC_0370post
Last week, me and my boyfriend spent just a few days in Munich which were actually enough for many things to go wrong but we also had some really nice time. Munich is beautiful around Christmas, we had delicious food, mulled wine and we did some shopping. Here’s the beauty part of it:

I’ve visited many DM drugstores in different countries and I always find something new in there or brands that are available only in Germany.
p2 is one of these brands and I limited myself to just picking up a lipstick and a nail polish. The p2 Full Shine Lipstick in 080 Tell Me a Tale is a great everyday shade, it’s pink but has a bit of mauve in it and I can tell you that it’s going to be in my monthly favourites, so I’ll be showing you swatches. And speaking of mauve, p2 Volume Gloss Gel Look Polish in 021 Young Miss is a gorgeous mauve creme that goes opaque even with one coat, it’s really shiny and has a great formula that applies smoothly. If I didn’t have so many nail polishes right now, I would have picked up more from the range. However, it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t get a nude nail shade. It’s from trend IT UP and their Double Volume & Shine series, the shade is 110, I love these nail polishes, they have amazing range of colours, great formula and they are super affordable.

I finally got my hands on the Ebelin Professional Blending Brush, everybody’s raving about it, I’m not an eyeshadow girl but the brush is really good and I’m actually quite sad I didn’t buy different ones to try.

Essence have a new limited edition range called Winter? Wonderful! that was basically, all sold out. The only item I managed to get was their blush in 01 Winter Kissed Cheeks, there were only two left, so I picked up one for me and one for my mum. This blush is simply gorgeous and I really wanted their Merry Berry Highlighter but once again, it was sold out everywhere…by everywhere I mean at least 7 of their stores in Munich.

I love body washes and I go through them really quickly, so I decided to get two that I haven’t tried before. One is the Sante Grenadine Spirit Shower Gel which is vegan and has Organic Pomegranate in it. The other one is from Sagrotan and it’s the Profresh Peach and Raspberry Shower Gel because if it’s a peach-scented body product, I’m sold.
Balea Limited Edition Cool Blossom Shampoo was a random purchase because I just liked how it smelled of something like blood orange and flowers at the same time.

I got a mini of the Treaclemoon Warm Cinnamon Nights Body Milk because I’ve never tried anything from the brand before and I have so many body moisturisers at the moment that I didn’t need any full size ones. I used it only once or twice and I can’t say much but I expected more from it, as so many girls love it.
And because I really didn’t need body moisturisers, I picked out two which are going to my mum because she doesn’t need more body moisturisers either but I just know she would love these. The first one is from Yves Rocher and it’s their Olive Oil Silky Cream which absorbs really nicely and has a delicate scent. I’ve always liked these because of the jar but sadly, it turned out it’s not glass but plastic. The other body moisturiser is The Body Shop Japanese Camellia Cream and I absolutely love how sophisticated the packaging looks, the cream smells amazing and hydrates really well. I also wanted to get something from the brand’s limited edition Frosted Plum range and I decided to purchase the hand cream because I tried it in the store and the scent is just gorgeous, the cream absorbs very quickly and we all need good hand creams in the winter.

And while we’re on the hand cream topic, I got this cute little set from L’Occitane and their Pierre Hermé Paris collaboration. It’s called Delicious Hand Cream Trio and has Jasmin Immortelle Neroli, Miel Mandarine and Pamplemousse Rhubarbe hand creams. If you’ve ever tried L’Occitane hand creams, you’ll know why they are some of my favourites and why I get at least one every winter. I also got the Pamplemousse Rhubarbe Perfumed Soap and Lip Balm and the Jasmin Immortelle Neroli Lip Gloss because L’Occitane‘s limited edition lip balms have sentimental value for me.

Last but not least is this beautiful gift set from Crabtree & Evelyn called Gardeners Set. It has a Hand Soap with garden botanicals like sage, rosemary and cucumber and Hand Therapy that ”soothes and helps protect a gardener’s work-roughened hands”. When you apply the hand cream and you wait a few minutes, it starts to smell of cinnamon or at least that’s what me and my boyfriend felt and that was the reason why we got this set.

So, these are my Munich beauty purchases. Have you tried any of them and what would you recommend picking up from Germany?

Berlin Beauty Haul

My boyfriend was on a work trip to Berlin, so he asked me if I needed some beauty products. I’m always curious about their drugstore make-up and that’s basically what I wanted to get. Then, he decided to get something extra, as per usual and here’s my Berlin beauty haul.

Hair and body products
I love Kneipp‘s shower products because they’re natural, they smell amazing and they’re very gentle. My boyfriend found a set of three shower creams and he picked it up for me. The scents are Fig Milk and Argan Oil, Almond Milk and Almond Oil, Litsea Cubeba and Lemon.
How cute are these mini Roger & Gallet soaps? I love their body lotions and the soaps smell gorgeous as well, they’re in Green Tea and Bois d’Orange.
There are two body creams, the first one is from Rituals and it’s their Honey Touch Indian Rose and Himalaya Honey Body Cream. Everybody raves about it, I love Rituals products and I’m very excited to try this one. The second one comes from DM, a drugstore that has its own brand called Alverde and it has products free from mineral oils. parabens, silicones, synthetic fragrance and artificial colourants at a more affordable price. The body butter that I wanted to try is for very dry skin and is the Macadamia and Shea Butter one. Everybody says it smells delicious.
Another brand from DM is Balea and when I learnt that they had a Professional haircare line, I decided to try their Volume Shampoo.

IMG_3157post IMG_3164post IMG_3171post IMG_3181post

Who doesn’t love lipsticks? Most of the ones above look like ”my colours” except for one, the last one on the right, it’s from p2 and the shade is 059 Copacabana. It’s a gorgeous coral, the only problem is that I don’t wear coral, I don’t really think it suits me but I’m curious to see if I could actually make it work. The first on the left is from Maybelline‘s new Rebel Bouquet ColourSensational series and it’s in 342 Mauve Mania. It looks gorgeous in the bullet and I can’t wait to try it. Then there are two shades from Catrice‘s Luminous Lips Lipstick in the shades 100 Me, My Macaron & I and 120 Wood Rose Propose?. Another two shades from Essence Longlasting Lipstick: 06 Barely There and 07 Natural Beauty.
Catrice has a dupe for the famous Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector and I’ve been wanting to get my hands on it for a very long time. The shade of their Beautifying Lip Smoother that I got is 010 Sweet Caramel. Another balm-y product from Catrice is the Pure Shine Colour Lip Balm and my shades are 010 Rose & Woody and 040 My Cherry Berry. I pretty much use two shades of lip products in different forms, I know…
Apparently the Essence LipLiner is a very popular product because I was hoping to get at least three shades but my boyfriend found only one – 06 Satin Mauve.
It wouldn’t be me if I don’t try to get new concealers. There are two here and both are from Catrice, the first one is their Camouflage Cream and the second one is the Allround Coverstick. I wasn’t sure which shades would be good on me, so it was quite the task for my poor boyfriend to do. Hopefully, these would fit me.
From the eyeshadows that I wanted, they had only the Essence I Love Nude in 05 My Favourite Tauping.
If you’ve seen my London hauls, you’ve probably noticed that I got about 10 nail polishes, so I decided to limit myself to just three this time…plus one ”treatment”. I’m a nude nail lover, so I had to have Essence The Nudes in 03 I’m Lost in You but needed some brighter colours for the upcoming warmer months. This is when Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer in 82 A Gallon of Melon and Catrice Luxury Nudes in 08 Little Dose of Rose come.
The last product is the only one that I’ve already tried and I’m loving it! It’s from Essence and is the Nail Art Express Dry Drops. I think I might do a separate review on it because it’s cheap and gets the job done in less than a minute.

Have you tried any of these products and would you suggest some other drugstore beauty items from Germany?

London Beauty Haul: High-Street Products (Skincare and Make-up)

IMG_2361post IMG_2384post IMG_2388post IMG_2391post IMG_2392post IMG_2402post IMG_2428postIMG_2436post IMG_2438post IMG_2449post

We finally reached the last London haul part! It’s the second high-street one and I’ve featured some products that aren’t necessarily drugstore but aren’t high-end either. You’ll see what I mean if you keep reading.

Starting off with eye make-up and with my favourite mascara at the moment. It’s from a high-end brand but this mini came with an ELLE UK issue and it’s practically a freebie, so I decided to include it here. I got several because I wanted to stock up on it considering the full size wasn’t available when I was in London and because I wanted other people to try it too. You can read my full review on it here. Since I loved the Bourjois 1 Seconde Mascara, I decided to get it in Ultra Black version but then I realised I have too many mascaras at the moment and I’m giving these away to my mom and my boyfriend’s mom. The Barry M Showgirl mascara is often mentioned by British girls and I’m really curious about it. But enough mascaras! Since I’m quite rubbish with eyeliners, I picked a cheap liquid eyeliner to practice and it’s Fast Stroke by Collection. I’ve been wanting to get my hands on Rimmel‘s Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in Nude but there aren’t any Rimmel products in Norway and I’m really happy that I finally got it. It opens up your eye when you apply it in your waterline and makes you look more awake, it’s really creamy and easy to use.

If I have to pick the most desired product of my latest London trip, it has to be Archery by Soap&Glory. I’ve been hearing and reading so much about this product, I’ve tried to find it online but it was just not possible to get it to Norway. Then I went to Boots and the shade that I wanted – Hot Chocolate, was always sold out! After visiting a dozen Boots stores, I finally managed to get two of the pencils and already sent one to my mom. I can say that I absolutely love this eyebrow pencil and will be rambling a lot about it in future, I guess. I saw my boyfriend putting the L’Oreal Brow Artist Plumper in the basket while we were browsing the aisles and I didn’t protest, he knows what I want to try.

Concealers are a huge love of mine, I’m ‘blessed’ with really dark circles and combination skin that tends to go crazy from time to time, so it’s a saviour for me. Makes me look more awake and healthy and I simply can’t imagine going out without applying a concealer. If I do it, it’s guaranteed that people will ask me if I’m sick. I got Kick Ass Concealer by Soap&Glory and I haven’t tried it yet but I love how many things you get in such a small pot. Had to take the Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser Concealer in both shades available and also, the Revlon Colorstay Concealer which I’m currently using and I’m surprised how good the coverage is. I also picked up a darker shade of my favourite Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream because I can make the lightest one work but wanted to see if this would be a more suitable one.

The lip products that I got are only two and I can’t even believe it. I really wanted to try darker shades of the Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liners but they had only light ones, so I picked Eastend Snob which is a little bit too pink for my taste but I’m pairing it with a slightly darker lipstick and it looks pretty. I finally got my hands on Revlon Lip Butters and picked the shade Berry Smoothie which is gorgeous.

I wanted to get some eye creams, nothing too special, just products that moisturise the delicate eye area. My choices were Simple Revitalising Eye Roll-On and Boots Simply Sensitive Hydrating Eye Cream because I like applying a gel in the warmer months and a cream in the winter. Also from Boots, I got their Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Concealer stick because I have other products from the range and I was curious about this one. I like that it’s very creamy, it has a good coverage but the shade is too dark and I saw only one, not sure if they have more. From Sanctuary SPA I picked their Polishing Hot Cloth Cleanser for our mothers and the 5min Thermal Detox Mask because everybody is talking about it and I want to try it. I got the Rimmel Eye Make-up remover because I couldn’t find the famous Botanics one, they had all the micellar solutions from Botanics but never the make-up remover.

Then on Valentine’s Day we popped into LUSH and I saw the Tea Tree Toner Tab which seems very interesting but I still haven’t tried it. Now, I don’t regret buying the Tea Tree Water but it smells exactly like my homemade tea tree water and it has almost the same ingredients. It’s really nice and refreshing, especially if you have oily or combination skin but I think it’s something that I can make on my own. I absolutely love the Cupid’s Love Soap, it’s so fruity and creamy and just amazing. I keep the mini Charity Pot Body Lotion in my handbag because it’s really tiny and I can use it as a hand cream.

So, it’s done! All the three London beauty hauls are here and I can’t wait to try these products. There are still many on my list of beauty stuff that I want to get from the UK but I’m really pleased with what I got.
