Empties #10

20161103_112150postAs I always end up collecting way too many empty products and writing a novel about them, this time I decided to make it quite simple. There are just a couple of make-up items and the rest is skincare and body products.

Maybelline ColourSensational Shine Gloss in 610 Naked Star – Actually, I couldn’t finish this gloss and it has expired but I liked it because it wasn’t a sticky one and looked nice on its own or on top of lipsticks;
Clinique Airbrush Concealer in 04 Neutral Fair – One of my favourite concealers, it’s supposed to be brightening and it really does illuminate quite nicely but I also used it to cover up some imperfections around the face and it does great job at this, as well. I think I need the full size of it now;

Balea Purifying Mask – That’s a great budget clay mask and I already got another sachet. It comes in a 2-pack and one sachet contains a lot of product, so I always end up using it twice (don’t ask how I close the sachet that is once opened) but it makes my skin soft and radiant;
KICKS Clearing Mud Mask – This is probably my favourite KICKS face mask, they released four a few months ago and this one is already used up. It doesn’t dry out my skin but it purifies and leaves it smooth and glowy;
Sephora Pearl Face Mask – I love Sephora sheet masks, they are so relaxing and heavenly-scented. This one is brightening and moisturising and it’s one of my most purchased ones from the brand;
Garnier Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask – I used about three packs of this face mask because it’s so popular at the moment and I really wanted to like it. It smells amazing and feels cooling but it wasn’t really hydrating on my skin and I have combination skin. Also, it leaves my face quite wet and feels sticky even after massaging in what’s left from the serum;
Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum – This small tube didn’t last much, so I couldn’t see if it really firms and repairs the skin but it felt soothing and moisturising;
Neal’s Yard Remedies Beauty Sleep Concentrate – Another travel size serum that I tried. Feels like rich cream but at the same time it’s light when applied and doesn’t make my skin more oily than it is, it doesn’t break me out and I wake up to radiant and healthy skin;
Neal’s Yard Remedies White Tea Facial Mist – I used this one before going to bed because the scent is really relaxing. It’s calming and moisturising although the way the spray works is quite heavy and that is probably the only thing I didn’t like about it;
REN Flash Defence Anti-Pollution Mist – Really missing this one. I used to spray it multiple times throughout the day. The mist is very fine, it hydrates the skin, it’s refreshing and also gives protection against the environmental aggressors. I’ve done a full review on it here;
Balea Almond Blossom Extract Toner – It’s suitable for dry and sensitive skin and although mine is combination, I quite liked this toner. It has a nice and light scent and it doesn’t strip my skin;
Ziaja Sensitive Micellar Water – This is my second bottle of this budget micellar water. It contains no parabens, alcohol and perfume, feels gentle on the skin and removes make-up quite well;
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion + – I have a travel size of this moisturiser whenever I travel because it never lets me down. Clinique moisturisers are some of my favourite ones anyway but this one works perfect when I’m away because it gives me the right amount of hydration without breaking me out and without being too rich and heavy on the skin;

Body and Hair
Yves Rocher Lotus Flower Shower Gel – The brand has incredible scents and this body wash proves it one more time, it’s delicate and beautiful. Also, I love the lightweight packaging;
Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia Moisturising Perfumed Body Lotion – My summer body lotion. Feels very light on the skin but hydrates it really well and is also beautifully-scented;
Balea MED Sensitive Shampoo – During autumn, my scalp gets a bit irritated. This year is actually even worse, so I’ve been looking for a gentle shampoo. I’ve heard good things about the medical line from Balea and decided to give this one a go. It is supposed to be for sensitive scalp but it didn’t do much for my irritated skin, unfortunately;
COLAB Sheer + Invisible New York Dry Shampoo – I should have taken more minis when I was in London because I really like this dry shampoo, I’ve talked about it many times on the blog;
Balea Hand Cream for very dry skin – This was one of my handbag hand creams. It smells very nice, takes a couple of minutes to absorb but doesn’t feel sticky or greasy.

This is everything I’ve used up in the past few weeks and I’m quite happy I don’t have the huge pile I normally collect before sharing my experience with the products.

My Summer Perfumed Body Lotion

Me and my family have a thing for Armani fragrances. All of us, including my boyfriend, have a few of them and luckily, none are repeating. I still remember the first time when I got City Glam for my brother, it was more than 10 years ago and we were all really sad when it got discontinued.

For me, the brand’s scents for women are such with a bit more sweet notes and another group with a bit more fresh notes. For example, I adore their  range, while my mum is more into the Diamonds one. However, we both love Acqua di Gioia, Air di Gioia and Sun di Gioia because they are just perfect for the summer. I was really happy to get introduced to the scented body care because I already have Armani‘s Sì Body Lotion and I was curious about the rest.

Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia Perfumed Body Lotion* has notes of Mint, Brown Sugar, Jasmine, Peony, Pink Pepper, Cedarwood and Labdanum and this combination turns it into my current favourite summer body lotion. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this one doesn’t contain mineral oil (the  body lotion, for example, contains mineral oil) and is rich in Avocado Oil, Olive Oil and Meadowfoam Seed Oil. Once it’s applied on the skin, the lotion absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue. Feels light and a bit cooling on the skin, while making it soft and hydrated. I love the fragrance that it leaves, it’s fresh, feminine, sensual, dreamy, warm, breezy…it’s the scent of summer. It also lasts pretty long time on body and clothes and keeps the skin moisturised.

The 200 ml bottle is going to last a really long time, so I can extend the summer feeling and enjoy it even throughout September. Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia Perfumed Body Lotion* is light, yet moisturising and beautifully-scented lotion that can be used on its own or layered with the perfume. Both ways, it’s a lovely and quite special body moisturiser that will now always take me back to those warm summer nights…

Army of Minis #2

DSC_0108post DSC_0110post DSC_0112post

While you’re reading this post, I’m hopefully on my way to a long-awaited holiday in Rome. I’m so excited about this trip, I haven’t been in the city before and the experience should also involve a huge music event.

When it comes to beauty-related packing, I try to go as light as possible and that’s when my minis come. For me, it’s a way to try a new product but also to have a tiny version of a trustworthy one and have it always around me.

I’ve done a similar post during my last London trip, so I thought it would be nice to turn it into a series.

Of course, I’m not taking only small-sized products but here are the miniatures for this trip:

Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser is something that I haven’t tried but hopefully it’s going to be a nice second step for cleansing my face;
Clarins Daily Energizer Cream and Clarins Eye Contour Gel are going to be respectively my face and eye area moisturisers;
Clarins Beauty Flash Balm is going to be my primer and it might seem too much Clarins but I got these products in a gift set;
Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser* – because one cleanser isn’t enough;
Indie Lee COQ – 10 Toner*;
Indie Lee Squalane Facial Oil* – I’m pretty curious about these Indie Lee products because the brand is described as eco-chic and has a very interesting story;
Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Adjunctive Hydrating Care SPF 30 is for the days when I’m not going to be wearing a make-up base that has an SPF;
Soap & Glory Clean on Me Creamy Shower Gel;
Sebamed Camomile Face Mask is one to try because I love applying a face mask after a flight or a whole day out, it just makes me feel a bit more home and less in a hotel when I can treat my skin with a face mask;
LUSH New Charity Pot and Yves Rocher Yellow Peach Silky Body Lotion are going to be my body moisturisers;
Estée Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara was waiting for its turn for months and I can’t wait to finally try it;
Giorgio Armani Si EdP to finish off the look, it’s such a feminine fragrance with a bit of sweetness to it, I love this travel size packaging, it’s beautiful and contains a lot of product.

Of course, that’s just a small part of what I’m bringing but minis make my life a lot easier when I’m traveling.
