Moisturiser for Dry Skin on my Combination Skin?!

IMG_9631post1

I know it might seem weird but sometimes I use moisturisers for dry skin on my combination skin face. It’s actually ok if you use it on the right zones.

A couple of months ago I switched my daily moisturiser to a mattifying one. I love it but I noticed that my cheeks needed more hydration. Then I remembered that I had this cream in my stash but never got to use it because it’s made for dry skin. It’s the Decleor Hydra Floral ”Flower nectar” moisturising cream. I’ve seen many nice comments about Decleor’s products, my mom is using some of them too and I probably got this one out of curiosity but since it wasn’t suitable for my skin type (there was nothing saying it’s for dry skin, I learned it later), it just remained somewhere in the bathroom.

Excuse me that I’m not able to tell you if just the packaging of this one is changed or the formula is different but now they have another one, a light version of the product that is suitable for every skin type including oily skin types.

What is important to know is that this cream has natural ingredients, hydrates your skin and also, the plant extracts protect it from pollution. It’s on the pricey side but you need just a small amount of the product, feels luxurious on the skin and makes my cheeks and neck really soft, actually, softer than ever! Smells of flowers which I, personally, like.

I know that I’ll be reaching for this cream even more in the autumn and winter months that are slowly approaching.

Have you tried any Decleor products?

April Favourites

IMG_9159post

It’s the end of the month again so it’s time to share what I was mostly using during April.

Sooner or later I’m always going back to my Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder. It controls the shine of my combination skin, it’s lightweight, looks natural and in the changing season, it was what I exactly needed.

And although my face needed some mattifying, it also asked for nourishing and hydration. Lately, I’m using rose water as a toner. I don’t remember the brand that I’m showing here because I put it in a travel bottle a long time ago but you can find rose water easily and you can also make it on your own. It cleanses and balances my skin, makes it smooth and it can also soothe irritated skin. The benefits of using rose water are thousands and you can see it for yourself if you try.

I almost never suffer from chapped lips but I guess it’s because I use lip balm nearly 24/7. The one that I was carrying everywhere with me this month was Burt’s Bees Nourishing Mango Butter Lip Balm. It’s 100% natural and it has fruity flavour. I love it, I love how it softens my lips, I love how it smells, it’s tiny so it doesn’t take much space and you even forget that it’s in your pocket.

Nobody talks about feet, is it so shameful? Feet are part of our body and we should take care of them. In fact, we torture them a lot by wearing high heels and walking/training all the time and our feet need pampering too! Clarins Foot Beauty Treatment Cream is a combination of softening the foot skin and making your feet feel relieved after a tough day. It has arnica extract, virgin cashew nut oil, shea butter and myrrh that takes care of your nails. The smell is very, very gentle. Exfoliate your feet and then apply this cream, you won’t regret it.

You can see that I’ve been loving the L’Occitane Rose 4 Reines Body Milk. I love everything about this body milk – the scent of the Grasse, Bulgarian, Moroccan and Turkish roses, the milky texture, the way it softens my skin for a day ahead. It has also grapeseed oil and this product absorbs quickly so you can get dressed immediately after using it.

I usually prefer citrus notes for my fragrances but sometimes in the colder months I go for something heavier. Like Paco Rabanne’s Lady Million. When I say heavier I don’t mean masculine, it’s still feminine but it’s kind of bold. Plus, it stays much better on skin than when you just test it on paper for example.

So, that’s my list with favourites for this month.

Do you like some of these products?

March Favourites

The first of my March favourites is an every-day-favourite and it’s the Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Hydrating Care. Since I have a combination to oily skin, this product helps my skin stay hydrated without being sticky. My skin gets softer, kind of mattified and nourished. And it has a pump! I just can’t say enough good words about the Eucerin products in general.

The second one is a hand cream and it’s the L’Occitane Shea Butter Subtle Violet Hand Cream. It comes in a limited edition and I actually got it in November last year when I was in London but I was loving it last month since the weather in Norway is still pretty cold. It’s a thick cream that smells amazing, makes my hands soft and gets absorbed quite fast.

Next one is also a hand product and it’s the Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. This cream is just so wonderful, it has natural ingredients, smells great, doesn’t leave a sticky film on your fingers, nourishes the nails and the cuticles and after using it, you have beautiful nails and no trace of dry cuticles.

I may be slightly obsessed with lip balms, I always take a look at new ones no matter how many I have. Some time ago I noticed a brand called Love & Toast and their pretty packaging. I’ve got a shower cream, a body butter and a lip balm. Later, the brand disappeared from Norway and there were no more of their products here. However, their Prickly Pear Lip Balm was the one that kept my lips hydrated last month. It has a light texture, it’s not sticky, smells fantastic, has organic oils and it’s not tested on animals! I use it daytime because at night I like to have a thicker balm on my lips. The thing that I don’t really like is that I have to use my fingers to get the product which means that I apply it only at home.

I’ve been searching for a new eye product that doesn’t burn my eyes but also works against my dark circles and makes me look less tired. And then it came! The Angelica Eye Roll-On by L’Occitane. I apply it day and night, my dark circles are still there but less visible I think. It’s a gel that smells fresh, it’s very gentle and suitable for all skin types. I keep it in the fridge for a fresher experience but unfortunately it wasn’t possible to find it in the town that I live so I had to purchase it.

The nail polish that I was often using in March was Essie’s Jag-u-are. For me it’s just the perfect red.

I’ve been totally loving my Arsenal white scarf during the cold month and seeing the weather outside, I’m pretty sure that we’re going to be often together in April as well.

The book that made the biggest impression on me last month was The Night in Lisbon by Erich Maria Remarque. It’s a tough one for me but Remarque is Remarque!
