Four Peach Body Washes for Every Budget

For many people coconut is the ultimate summer scent, however, I’m not the biggest fan of coconut-scented products. My favourite summer fragrance is peach and also watermelon because they are still sweet but much more fresh and light than coconut, for example.

I love peach-scented body washes and these are a few of my favourite ones. Hopefully everyone can find their own pick, as I’ll be showing them from lowest to highest price. Also, I’d like to mention the White Peach and Nectarine Shower Gel from Le Petit Marseiliais which was my favourite body wash during last year’s summer and I think I used up about 5 bottles of it then.

Starting off with the most affordable one and the one that isn’t technically peach-scented, Balea Hibiscus & Nectarine Body Wash. The brand has so many shower gels and creams with different textures and scents to choose from and that’s the main reason I love trying them. This one smells of peaches and has a hint of flower notes, it’s a lovely summer scent. The body wash doesn’t dry out my skin, it’s not something special in terms of hydration or feel to the skin but I really enjoy using it in the warmer months.

Now, I use quite a lot of products from Sagrotan to clean my home because they are antibacterial but I had no idea they also made body washes. The Sagrotan Pro Fresh Shower Gel with Peach & Raspberry creates a soft foam and feels really nourishing on the skin. It’s antibacterial but gentle and it doesn’t irritate or make my skin dry. I think it’s great to use after doing sports or on a hot summer day like it’s been in the last few weeks.

When I was younger, we used to have a peach tree in our garden and the way peaches smelled was deliciously soft of sweet nectar and sun. That’s how the entire Yves Rocher Yellow Peach collection smells. I love the body wash and the body lotion from the series, I also had the fragrance but sadly, I was told it has been discontinued and I’m incredibly sad about that!
Yves Rocher Yellow Peach Shower Gel is mild on the skin, feels creamy and soft and smells of ripe peaches that were grown in the summer sunshine. That’s probably my most-loved peach-scented body wash and I hope they will never stop making it.

Last but not least, a true treat for your skin with the L’Occitane Bonne Mère Peach Shower Gel. It’s fruity and fresh, it comes in a unique bottle and has a lovely texture. It’s just another body wash that takes me back to sweet summer memories and makes the shower experience even more special and luxurious. Like with the rest of the products mentioned, this one doesn’t have an overwhelming fragrance but leaves a nice scent to the body.

If you, like me, like more natural, fresh and just a bit sweet scents that aren’t too overpowering, I’d recommend checking these body washes out. They are great for the summer and the aroma is delicious!

January Favourites

DSC_0652post DSC_0654post DSC_0658post
So, the first month of 2016 has come to an end! Hard to believe, I know… But the thought of time flying really quickly, makes me feel quite down, so I’d better start sharing with you my January favourites.

In the past few weeks, I’ve been enjoying two shower gels. My morning one has been the Ziaja Orange Butter Creamy Shower Soap which smells like freshly pressed orange juice and I love it! This body wash contains Orange Butter derived from orange peel and it actually feels pretty moisturising on the skin, it’s refreshing and awakening. If you have the Polish brand’s products near you, be sure to check this one out.
My favourite evening shower gel has been Sante Grenadine Spirit Shower Gel which is vegan and has Organic Pomegranate in it. For me, it doesn’t smell like pomegranate, I find it warm and sweet-smelling like panettone which makes me feel quite Christmassy. It’s very gentle on the skin, it’s free from silicones, synthetic colourants and preservatives. I love even the design of the tube and I can’t wait to try more of this brand’s products once I’m back to Germany.

I’ve included the Clinique Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara in the shade 01 Jumbo Jetin my November 2015 favourites and my annual favourites but I’d like to mention it one more time because together with the Lancôme Hypnôse Volume-à-porter Mascara, they make the perfect pair. They are both separating and volumising but together, they do something that just doesn’t happen when I’m using only one of them. First, I go with a coat of Lancôme Hypnôse Volume-à-porter Mascara and then I finish off with a layer of the Clinique Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara. The result is long, fluttery, voluminous and gorgeous lashes!

I haven’t used many different nail polishes in the past few weeks, simply because WYCON Nail Lacquer in N. 222 has been on my nails for about three weeks in a row. I couldn’t stop re-applying this beautiful dusty lavender shade and you can read more about it here.

I’ve been keeping the Crabtree & Evelyn‘s Gardeners Hand Therapy by the bathroom sink because I find it very soothing. January has been incredibly cold here in Norway, we have a lot of snow and my hands tend to bleed in such weather. This hand cream is infused with Macadamia Nut OilShea Butter andVitamin E. It smells amazing, warm and not too overpowering, so my boyfriend loves it, as well. It’s not greasy and you can dispense the right amount of product thanks to the pump. It’s not cheap but it lasts a really long time, we also got it in a set and it can be used by both, men and women. Definitely, one of the best hand creams I’ve ever tried.

There are a few more products that I wanted to include in this post but as I’ve been using them for only a couple of weeks, I’ll wait until February because I’m sure I’ll keep loving them.

Sanctuary SPA White Lily & Damask Rose

img_2576post img_2577postimg_2571postimg_2565post

Whenever I travel to the UK, I always take a look at the Sanctuary SPA shelves in Boots. There is just something so relaxing about their body products and in the past couple of years, I’ve been trying to find my favourite range from them. And I did find it.

At the beginning of the year, Sanctuary SPA launched in Norway which made me really excited. However, the variety is still quite poor and the prices are much higher than the ones in London, for example. The set that I’m showing you today, isn’t available in Norway, unfortunately, but if you find yourself in the UK, be sure to check it out.

Sanctuary SPA White Lily & Damask Rose is a range that has some of the best-smelling body products I’ve ever tried. The scent is feminine, delicate, slightly floral but very subtle and not too overpowering. It’s almost like a light perfume.

I’d like to start with the first product that I tried from the range which turned out to be my least favourite. I fell in love with the scent of the White Lily & Damask Rose Body Scrub but I really don’t like the beads in it, they just don’t do anything for my skin.

The White Lily & Damask Rose Body Wash is amazing, light but moisturising thanks to the bursting moisture particles with Jojoba Oil. My skin feels clean, soft and wonderful-smelling.

Although, I’ve tried much more moisturising body lotions, the White Lily & Damask Rose Body Lotion isn’t greasy or heavy and still has decent hydrating properties thanks to the Shea Butter and Rose Extracts. The scent is incredibly calming and uplifting at the same time. My skin is left feeling nourished and smooth.

I’m in love with this delicately scented Sanctuary SPA range, the aroma is divine!
Do you have a favourite body care series from the brand?

Empties #6

DSC_0971post DSC_0977post DSC_0984postThis Empty Products post will be quite short in comparison to previous ones I’ve done but as I’ve been away from Norway, I didn’t have my beauty garbage box with me and wasn’t sure how many items I could collect. However, I’m trying to be a good blogger and wanted to share with you my experience with the following products.

I’ve used up so many body washes but I remembered to keep only two bottles. I’ve mentioned how much I liked Le Petit Marseillais White Peach & Nectarine body wash and I went through 2 or 3 bottles of it this summer but their Orange Blossom Shower Gel is another one that I liked. Their shower gels have natural ingredients and feel quite moisturising but at the same time have light texture. I simply love the way they smell because their scents are not too overpowering or sweet.

The Pomegranate Nectar Bath & Shower Gel from L’Angelica was nice, too. I didn’t experience a major difference in my shower routine with it but again, didn’t feel heavy on the skin and had a nice light scent to it.

Another body product is the limited edition Cabana Dream Body Lotion from Balea and I’m really missing this one because it smelled of peaches and maracuja. It’s summer in a tube and if you still don’t know, I have a thing for peach-scented body products. The moisturising properties weren’t bad, either, although the texture was quite milky and light. It was a really nice summer body lotion.

Another Balea product that I’ve used up is the Lemon Grass & Mint Shampoo which I quite enjoyed. It made my hair fresh and shiny, it didn’t weigh it down because it’s a clear gel that feels very light.

My LUSH New Charity Pot is empty again and I’m going to fill it in soon but you can read more about this product here.

I already have another backup of my beloved Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream (review here), it’s the only base product I’ve been using for months on my face. I’m curious about different foundations and tinted moisturisers but I seem to always reach for this one as it’s quite light but gives a good amount of coverage without being heavy and cakey. The second and last make-up product is the GOSH Defining Clear Brow Gel that I’ve mentioned here. I like this brow gel because it doesn’t make my brows crispy and hard. At the moment, I’m having many brow gels to use up or try but in future, I will definitely re-purchase this one.

As I’ve mentioned many times, I’m not the biggest face wipes fan. However, I always carry a pack of face wipes when I travel because they remove make-up quite quickly. I always, always, always cleanse my skin after using face wipes because all we do with face wipes is moving around the dirt on our faces. The last face wipes that I’ve used up are from Comodynes and they are the Micellar Cleanser Sensitive Skin Face & Eyes wipes. It was a random purchase because back then, the rest of the wipes at the drugstore were not suggested to be used on eyes and these were the only ones. I actually liked them a lot because they were very gentle, yet they effectively removed even more stubborn mascara.

I’ve used up two Schaebens face masks. The first one is the most popular they have and it’s the Dead Sea Mud Mask and I love how purifying it is but at the same time quite soothing because of the Aloe Vera and Camomile in it. The Cleansing Mask seemed a bit unusual to me because it’s almost like a cream but gives a slight exfoliation, as well and also removes the impurities. I was really happy with these masks but the sachets and the quantity is a bit strange as it’s too much for 1-2 applications but not quite enough for more and it’s difficult to store it.

Several months ago, I was sent three miniatures of Indie Lee‘s Brightening Cleanser*COQ – 10 Toner* and Squalane Facial Oil*. I liked all the three but I have to say that my favourite was the facial oil and if I didn’t have so many oils at the moment, I would have already purchased the full size. It doesn’t break me out, it hydrates and makes the dry patches appearing sometimes, go away and nourishes the whole face without making my T-zone more oily.

Another mini is from Eucerin and you probably know by now how much I like their DermoPURIFYER range. I used the Adjunctive Hydrating Care in the summer because it has SPF 30 and it’s not heavy or greasy.

The last product is the Balea Water Spray for Face and Body which didn’t change my life and it’s nothing more than a water mist but it was really refreshing to use in the hot summer days…

Now I really miss summer, it was such a great one!

Lately I’ve Been Enjoying…

IMG_3343post IMG_3346post IMG_3347post
There are products that I’ve been enjoying lately but never made it to a monthly favourites post. It’s either because I’ve been using them for just a couple of days or weeks or because it’s been months but wanted to share other products with you.

An example for the latter is the Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser With Tamarind and Purifying Micro-Pearls. I’ve mentioned before that I’m not the biggest fan of foaming cleansers but because I haven’t been disappointed by a Clarins product so far, I decided to give it a try. The cleanser is suitable for oily and combination skin and you need the tiniest amount of it, not even a pea size of it, it foams up very much. At first, I was quite scared of the huge foam and the heavy, creamy texture. Once you start washing your face though, it feels luxurious and you notice refreshing cleansing properties without being left with squeaky clean skin. At the moment, this is my morning cleanser, I wouldn’t try to remove make-up with it, I don’t think it’s good to use it around your eyes either.
I think this is a very good product for shine control (combined with a moisturiser, of course) without making the skin dry.

Eye creams and gels don’t do much for me and my dark circles but I need to keep the area hydrated, so a basic eye product is what I’m looking for. That’s how I found Simple Kind to Eyes Revitalising Eye Roll-On, yes, it was a random purchase. I tend to use a gel during spring and summer and a thicker cream in the colder months, so this feels quite refreshing for this time of the year. I like how it comes in a squeezy tube but it’s a roll-on because you can control the amount of product you want to apply. I apply the product with circular motions around the eye area and then just smooth it in with my fingers. It’s cooling and wakes my eyes up. I like it as a base for my concealer and although it doesn’t make a huge difference, I like how calming it is and the fact that it doesn’t sting my eyes which many eye products tend to do.

I’ve been really impressed by a body wash from a Norwegian brand. It’s from the drugstore and it’s the Dr Greve Soap Free Shower Cream With Almond Oil and Oats. What could it be so impressive about a body wash you’d ask. Well, it’s suitable even for sensitive skin, so it doesn’t have much of a scent to it and it feels really gentle on the skin. Plus, it’s something like a body wash and a body lotion in one. My boyfriend hates this and he never used it a second time but for me personally, this is great. It has a milky texture that cleanses and nourishes the skin at the same time. Of course, I still apply a body moisturiser but it’s helping when the body wash hydrates the skin, as well.

These are a couple of products that I’ve been enjoying lately, have you tried any of them?
