Last week me and my boyfriend went to Rome for the first time in our lives. We’ve both been to Italy before but we’d never spent even a second in Rome, so we were pretty excited. The trip was planned about 9 months ago when my all-time favourite artist announced his then upcoming summer tour and tickets got sold out pretty quickly.
It won’t be an exaggeration if I say this has been my most loved trip by now. It was filled with great music, amazing food, warm weather, unforgettable moments and photos to remind me of this great time. I’m sharing with you some of them today and I hope you’ll like them. Have a great Sunday!
Several days ago me and my boyfriend got back from London after his surprise for me. It was actually a bit longer than a weekend trip but since we decided to avoid the touristic part this time and to simply enjoy food and shopping, the camera remained in the hotel for most of the trip.
The only time we were proper tourists was at the Greenwich Meridian.
We tried to go to several markets but they were never open and at the few that we visited, I was ‘welcomed’ with ”No photos, please!”.
This was the first time we were in London without being at a football game but considering the relatively low temperatures, the warm pub atmosphere seemed more tempting.
If the rainy Norwegian weather allows me to take decent photos, I’ll be soon preparing beauty haul posts but for now, here are some of the trip photos:
I try to keep the situation on my bedside table pretty simple. You can see just a couple of products that I use before going to bed because I do my evening skincare routine much earlier.
The most important thing for me is to apply lip balm because night is the time when we don’t drink and eat and it can stay on my lips for at least 6 hours. It’s the best time to nourish my lips and usually I keep a thick lip treatment near me. Origins Lip Remedy contains menthol and camphor which means it feels cooling on the lips. It’s really soothing and although the scent can be pretty strong and the consistency reminds me of a body lotion, I really like this product as an overnight treatment.
Next up is the foot cream and we all feel ashamed to talk about feet. I have to admit that I’m a little bit lazy with my feet mainly because I don’t like the sticky feeling of a lotion or a cream on this part of my body. Luckily, Burt’s Bees Coconut Foot Cream absorbs quickly, smells amazing and nourishes my feet during the night.
I always keep a body lotion on my bedside table in case I’ve missed this step after taking a shower. I just love Roger & Gallet Fleur d’Osmanthus Revitalising Sorbet because it has a divine scent, it’s lightweight but moisturising at the same time and you can read my review on it here.
Soap & Glory’s Hand Food is one of my favourite hand creams and I can never get bored of the smell. Lovely product along with their hand scrubs. I usually ”wash” my hands with the scrub before going to bed and then apply a thick layer of the hand cream.
The tiny travel bottle with no name, no colour, no nothing is actually a mixture of oils. I have sleeping problems and this little guy helps me feel calmer and sleep better. And although there are many oils inside, it actually smells of mandarins, it’s very fresh and nice.
Usually reading is part of my night routine, I like to read before falling asleep and using my Kindle is the most comfortable way to do it. I was a little bit negative at the beginning but I can give you so many reasons to try such device now. We all love the smell of paper books but we can save many trees by using this or similar little thing, you can carry it everywhere with you and you can load hundreds of books…
If you ask my family or friends who my favourite artist is, they will literally need a second to give you an answer…something more, they all will tell you the same name – Tiziano Ferro.
Tiziano Ferro is an Italian artist – singer, songwriter, producer, author of two books and an incredible person. He’s probably the most famous Italian artist of our time. But his story didn’t start so glamorous.
He struggled to find his place and way to show his music to the world. He weighed 111 kg, no company wanted to sign him claiming that nobody would listen to Italian R&B music. Luckily, they were wrong.
His professional career began in 2001 and that’s when I heard him first. I was a teenager changing her hobbies and interests five times a day. So, when I heard the first single of the cute Italian guy, I was pretty sure that a month later I wouldn’t even remember him…luckily, I was wrong too.
There was something special about him and although in one part of the world he’s just known for singing Xdono, in another one he’s one of the most successful young talents. I’m very happy that I continued to follow his career because day by day, year by year, I witnessed something extraordinary. At first, I didn’t understand his lyrics so I started studying Italian on my own, as a hobby. I’m not perfect but it’s more than enough to know that he’s a true poet and every song is going so deep in my soul and heart that it’s indescribable. And here I am, 13 years later, still admiring his talent and personality.
But why is he so important? Because he’s inspiration and motivation, because he shows that when you’re passionate about something and you love doing it, it doesn’t matter how many doors will be shut in front of you, you just have to keep going.
Because he writes his songs on his own and something more – he writes songs for his colleagues, for young talents that need help to be noticed and he’s giving them a hand by producing their albums. Because he’s not selfish. He’s an example.
Because he doesn’t live on the social media. Yes, you can see his official pages with millions of followers and fans, managed by his team and occasionally he will write a line or two but he doesn’t share every single second of his life. Instead, he works hard, comes back after his long tv/radio pauses and breaks another record that was set by himself with his previous album.
Because he really has much to say and he does it in the right moment. And although I’m really happy for him when he has these pauses (in which he’s still working), I really miss him because his words give me strength and courage and hope…
I just wish he was appreciated even more because he’s a real treasure, a true inspiration and a person who doesn’t take himself too seriously…
What I want to tell you with this post is not only that I respect this person so much but also that you shouldn’t give up on what you love, that we should be kind to each other and that we should treasure the little things in our lives.
His sixth studio album TZN – THE BEST OF TIZIANO FERRO will be out November 25th in 4 different versions.
Here the first single from it:
Tour dates has already been announced, pre-order for fan club members starts today, regular orders – tomorrow:
The last couple of months have been quite busy and stressful for me and my boyfriend but we finally have a new home and each day I like it more and more.
I’m trying to make the place look more cosy and warm but we definitely need more time to complete our ideas. Here I’m showing you just a few favourite spots for the moment.
Starting off with the kitchen because I spend a lot of time there, it’s my favourite place, I love cooking but even if I’m not cooking, I just feel good being there. I’m a fan of rustic kitchen types but here it seems this is the hardest thing to find (not that I don’t like Scandinavian style but I just prefer it warmer looking), so I’m trying to make it seem closer to what I like by adding small items.
Herbs and flowers have big part in my heart and I’m really happy that now we have a balcony which can welcome our outdoor plants.
Keep your fingers crossed for us because there is still a lot work to be done!
