Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto

Guerlain‘s La Petite Robe Noire family has a new member! So far, they’ve added a twist to all variations and it has always been really exciting to learn what’s inside these beautiful bottles but it might be even more thrilling now.

I have to say the La Petite Robe Noire from 2012 is not my favourite because the Cherry notes feel a bit too sharp on me. The ones I absolutely adore are the Eau Fraîche because of its sparkling Mandarin notes and the Intense version that is still fresh but a bit more creamy (I have review on it here).

The new addition, Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto* has a rocky edge, it’s modern, it’s cheeky. The bottle design is cool… although pretty tough to photograph.

Black Perfecto* is a bit less powdery than the ones before. As a rose lover, I was really happy to learn that this fragrance celebrates rose in all its forms: Grasse Rose Water, Rose Essential Oil and Rose Absolute. Rose is essential in all La Petite Robe Noire scents but here it is more spicy and smoky.
Behind the Rose we find Leather that makes the scent more deep and enigmatic.

Top notes are of Rose and it feels sweet but not too overpowering.
In the heart we find Rose Essence, Rose Absolute and Almond.
Base includes Black Tea, Black Leather and Black Musk.

When you smell Black Perfecto* you instantly realise it is La Petite Robe Noire but the Cherry notes are blended with fresh and juicy Rose. This fragrance is beautiful and radiant but still wild and a bit darker, thanks to the crunchy Almond base.

The dry down really shows what the brand wanted to achieve wih this fragrance. To the little black dress they added a black leather jacket, it is less sweet and more rich and intense while Black Tea makes it even more rebellious and cool.

I have to say Rose here is a bit more prominent that in the other ones from the range but it’s so delicate and gorgeous that even if you’re not a fan of such types of fragrances, you might like this one.

Honestly, I’m torn between the Intense version and this one for my favourite La Petite Robe Noire scent. Black Perfecto* is drier and darker than I would have expected but it’s still sheer and appropriate to wear at work, for example.

If you like rose scents and you are a fan of La Petite Robe Noire line, give this one a sniff. It might become your new favourite scent for fall.

Summer Addiction | Tom Ford Soleil Blanc Body Oil

Do you know that feeling when you’ve just had the best holiday in your life and you don’t want it to end? I’m sure you do.

Well, my wonderful holiday in Italy came to an end but at least I have something to remind me of it. And I’m addicted.

I know many people use body moisturisers only in the colder months but my legs tend to get dry regardless of the season, so I keep using hydrating products all year round. However, the types of products  I switch to are different. For example, I love using body oils in the summer because they’re hydrating, lightweight and not too oily. My boyfriend knows that, so he treated me to the Tom Ford Soleil Blanc Body Oil just before our holiday and needless to say, I’ve been using it ever since.

This is a silky, luxurious body oil that doesn’t dry down completely on me but I don’t mind it because it feels amazing on the skin. It’s nourishing and makes my skin incredibly soft. I usually massage a few drops onto damp or dry skin. Whenever I use it before bed, my bed sheets smell gorgeous on the next morning.

Soleil Blanc notes are warm, creamy and sultry. At first I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it, considering there is a hint of Coconut and if you don’t already know, I’m not the biggest fan of coconut-scented products. But like I’ve just mentioned, there is a hint of it, it just brings some sweetness to the scent but nothing too overpowering or unpleasant.
The spicy notes come from Cardamom and Pink Pepper with a hint of Pistachio and Bergamot. Ylang Ylang, Egyptian Jasmine and Tuberose create the floral combination that adds sensuality to the oil’s fragrance. Bitter Almonds, Amber and Tonka Bean put the finishing touches for a luxurious perfection.

Tom Ford Soleil Blanc is unexpected, addictive, sultry, feminine and beautiful for the summer. But I wouldn’t mind indulging in this glamorous body oil even in December. It’s a dream.

100% Natural Lipsticks from Burt’s Bees

I’m really enjoying the spring weather right now and I actually don’t feel like spending a lot of time to get ready in the morning. The easy and quick makeup look is what I’ve been going for lately, I just want to look fresh and healthy without using too many products. There are two lipsticks I’ve been loving and wearing a lot in the past few weeks and they come from one of my favourite brands – Burt’s Bees.

I’ve confessed my love for Burt’s Bees lip balms (and not only) multiple times, so when they released their 100% natural lipsticks, I couldn’t wait to try them out.

Many people said the packaging looks cheap, I personally don’t mind it considering how affordable these lipsticks are for what they do and are, plus, it’s made from 60% recycled materials which is good for our nature. I guess the issue for them is that the plastic is quite lightweight but I think the honeycomb print matching the shade of each lipstick is a very nice touch.

The first surprise arrives with the shade range, there are 14 lipstick colours in total which is definitely a lot to choose from. The shades I have are 501 Blush Basin* (a pinky-peachy nude) and 530 Lily Lake* (mauve pink with purple undertones, for me it’s something between MAC Plumful and MAC Syrup). I didn’t expect the colours to be so opaque, they feel balmy but they are quite pigmented.
The texture is creamy and hydrating but doesn’t feel heavy, it’s very comfortable to wear. The lipsticks are formulated with Moringa and Raspberry Seed Oils, Beeswax and Vitamin E to soften and condition the lips. I wouldn’t say they’re as moisturising as the lip balms but they definitely feel more hydrating than many of my lipsticks.
The lasting power is about 2 hours on me but the colour fades evenly and leaves a subtle stain that looks really pretty. The finish isn’t glossy but it isn’t matte either, it’s more of a satin one.

These two lipsticks are some of my most-worn ones in the past few weeks, they’re easy to apply and easy to wear. Also, they’re reasonably priced and the shades are really flattering. The colours are quite rich, so if you’re looking for a nourishing lip product with more pigmentation than a tinted balm, I’d recommend checking the Burt’s Bees lipsticks out.

Dior DIORSKIN Forever Perfect Cushion

It is no secret that my favourite foundation for the past year or so has been Dior DIORSKIN Forever Perfect Skin-Perfecting Foundation SPF 35 (review here). It’s lightweight, long-wearing, has matte but radiant finish at the same time, looks natural but also has great coverage. It’s just the perfect base for me, so when the brand launched their new Dior DIORSKIN Forever Perfect Cushion SPF 35, I had really high hopes for it. Actually, I’ve never really liked a cushion foundation on my combination skin, they just always stay too dewy and as if they never completely set.

The new foundation comes in a traditional cushion compact, it’s refillable which is amazing because you can get it at a lower price but it’s also better for our environment.
The texture of the cushion foundation is lighter than the liquid foundation one but feels a bit creamier than other cushion foundations I’ve tried. The formula is quite smooth and easy to work with, it’s not too thin and messy as some of you may expect it to be.

I’ve always appreciated the skincare benefits of the liquid Forever Foundation and I was pleased to see that Dior DIORSKIN Forever Perfect Cushion SPF 35 makes my skin feel really soft and smooth, too and the more I wear it the better my skin looks. This foundation isn’t supposed to be hydrating but it feels really comfortable even on more dry areas.

I’ve tried using the Dior DIORSKIN Forever Perfect Cushion SPF 35 with different types of brushes, a makeup sponge and the cushion puff that comes with the compact. The tool of choice for me would be the beauty sponge but on days when I want a more matte finish, I know I can achieve it best with the puff even if it may sound a bit strange. The coverage is buildable, it’s a bit lighter than the liquid foundation but I always need concealer for my dark circles and imperfections, anyway. It evens out the skin tone, minimises the look of the pores and gives a soft matte but radiant finish without being flat or powdery-looking.

On me, the cushion foundation remains fresh for 9-10 hours, I still need to blot a couple of times during the day but that’s completely normal for my skin type.
If I have to point out any downside, it must be the high price but I don’t think anyone would expect it to be really affordable and also, the shade range which consists of only 6 colours is a bit disappointing.

For me, both of these foundations are fantastic and I’m really happy to have found the perfect ones for my skin. Dior DIORSKIN Forever Perfect Cushion SPF 35 is also great to travel with, the compact keeps the product fresh, so far and I hope it will remain the same in a few weeks time, as well. The foundation is comfortable to wear, gives a fresh look and if you want a flawless, matte luminous finish, I’d recommend checking it out.

Dior Addict Lip Glow in Berry & Dior Addict Lip Sugar Scrub | Dior Colour Gradation Spring 2017 Collection

Dior spring collections excite me to a level that is not even measurable. The products and the shades are always cool and fresh but still remain elegant and sophisticated.

I had to wait a bit longer this year to see the new collection but last week I picked up the new Dior Addict Lip Glow in 006 Berry, the Dior Addict Lip Sugar Scrub which is sold out almost everywhere and one of the new nail polish shades Dior Vernis in 873 Sudden as you may have already seen on my Instagram. I’m only featuring the first two products here but I’d like to mention that Sudden is a vibrant peony pink shade with fine silver shimmer running through. The formula is flawless which is no surprise when we talk about Dior nail polishes, it’s glossy, opaque, long-wearing and dries pretty fast.

If you’ve seen this post, you already know that I’ve been waiting for a purple shade of the Dior Addict Lip Glow since the very first one was released. So, when they added a Lilac nuance last year, I was more than happy. Now that we have even the Lip Glow in Berry, my happiness is complete. This is one of my favourite lip products because of its soft moisturising feel added to the quality of giving the lips beautiful, healthy and natural tint. As you probably know, Dior Lip Glow reacts to the unique chemistry of each woman’s lips to enhance the natural colour. All the Lip Glow shades will look different on everyone depending on the lip chemistry and once applied, it takes 20-30 seconds for the colour to adjust. The new limited edition Berry shade looks very dark in the tube but gives a medium plum tint to the lips. I often wear the Dior Addict Lip Glow on its own because it looks fresh and nourishes my lips with the Wild Mango and Luffa Cylindrica added to the formula but they’re also great as lipstick bases because they’re smoothing and moisturising. I always have a Lip Glow in my handbag and the new shade must be my favourite, so far. Sadly, it’s a limited edition, so hurry up if you don’t want to miss it.

If you find lip scrubs messy and difficult to use, Dior Addict Lip Sugar Scrub will change your mind. It’s essentially an exfoliating balm with grains of sugar in it and can be used anytime anywhere. Once you apply the scrub, the sugar grains melt immediately and there is no grainy feel left, just a nice balmy and moisturising shine and a healthy rosy pink flush. It has a slight minty scent and tastes a bit sweet. My lips feel incredibly smooth after using the Dior Addict Lip Sugar Scrub and I was actually quite surprised by the result, considering how gentle and not harsh it feels on the lips. I think this is a brilliant product because we can finally exfoliate our lips anywhere and it will still feel and look like we’re only applying a balm.
I believe Dior Addict Lip Sugar Scrub is a permanent product but the whole collection will be available at least a couple more months, so be sure to check it out.
There are so many amazing products that it’s hard to choose what to get, I’ll be soon going back for more and I think I might need a backup of the gorgeous Berry Lip Glow.

I’ll be happy to know if you’ve picked up something from Dior Colour Gradation Spring 2017 Collection and what’s the product you’ve been loving.
