London Beauty Haul: High-Street Products (Skincare and Make-up)

IMG_2361post IMG_2384post IMG_2388post IMG_2391post IMG_2392post IMG_2402post IMG_2428postIMG_2436post IMG_2438post IMG_2449post

We finally reached the last London haul part! It’s the second high-street one and I’ve featured some products that aren’t necessarily drugstore but aren’t high-end either. You’ll see what I mean if you keep reading.

Starting off with eye make-up and with my favourite mascara at the moment. It’s from a high-end brand but this mini came with an ELLE UK issue and it’s practically a freebie, so I decided to include it here. I got several because I wanted to stock up on it considering the full size wasn’t available when I was in London and because I wanted other people to try it too. You can read my full review on it here. Since I loved the Bourjois 1 Seconde Mascara, I decided to get it in Ultra Black version but then I realised I have too many mascaras at the moment and I’m giving these away to my mom and my boyfriend’s mom. The Barry M Showgirl mascara is often mentioned by British girls and I’m really curious about it. But enough mascaras! Since I’m quite rubbish with eyeliners, I picked a cheap liquid eyeliner to practice and it’s Fast Stroke by Collection. I’ve been wanting to get my hands on Rimmel‘s Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in Nude but there aren’t any Rimmel products in Norway and I’m really happy that I finally got it. It opens up your eye when you apply it in your waterline and makes you look more awake, it’s really creamy and easy to use.

If I have to pick the most desired product of my latest London trip, it has to be Archery by Soap&Glory. I’ve been hearing and reading so much about this product, I’ve tried to find it online but it was just not possible to get it to Norway. Then I went to Boots and the shade that I wanted – Hot Chocolate, was always sold out! After visiting a dozen Boots stores, I finally managed to get two of the pencils and already sent one to my mom. I can say that I absolutely love this eyebrow pencil and will be rambling a lot about it in future, I guess. I saw my boyfriend putting the L’Oreal Brow Artist Plumper in the basket while we were browsing the aisles and I didn’t protest, he knows what I want to try.

Concealers are a huge love of mine, I’m ‘blessed’ with really dark circles and combination skin that tends to go crazy from time to time, so it’s a saviour for me. Makes me look more awake and healthy and I simply can’t imagine going out without applying a concealer. If I do it, it’s guaranteed that people will ask me if I’m sick. I got Kick Ass Concealer by Soap&Glory and I haven’t tried it yet but I love how many things you get in such a small pot. Had to take the Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser Concealer in both shades available and also, the Revlon Colorstay Concealer which I’m currently using and I’m surprised how good the coverage is. I also picked up a darker shade of my favourite Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream because I can make the lightest one work but wanted to see if this would be a more suitable one.

The lip products that I got are only two and I can’t even believe it. I really wanted to try darker shades of the Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liners but they had only light ones, so I picked Eastend Snob which is a little bit too pink for my taste but I’m pairing it with a slightly darker lipstick and it looks pretty. I finally got my hands on Revlon Lip Butters and picked the shade Berry Smoothie which is gorgeous.

I wanted to get some eye creams, nothing too special, just products that moisturise the delicate eye area. My choices were Simple Revitalising Eye Roll-On and Boots Simply Sensitive Hydrating Eye Cream because I like applying a gel in the warmer months and a cream in the winter. Also from Boots, I got their Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Concealer stick because I have other products from the range and I was curious about this one. I like that it’s very creamy, it has a good coverage but the shade is too dark and I saw only one, not sure if they have more. From Sanctuary SPA I picked their Polishing Hot Cloth Cleanser for our mothers and the 5min Thermal Detox Mask because everybody is talking about it and I want to try it. I got the Rimmel Eye Make-up remover because I couldn’t find the famous Botanics one, they had all the micellar solutions from Botanics but never the make-up remover.

Then on Valentine’s Day we popped into LUSH and I saw the Tea Tree Toner Tab which seems very interesting but I still haven’t tried it. Now, I don’t regret buying the Tea Tree Water but it smells exactly like my homemade tea tree water and it has almost the same ingredients. It’s really nice and refreshing, especially if you have oily or combination skin but I think it’s something that I can make on my own. I absolutely love the Cupid’s Love Soap, it’s so fruity and creamy and just amazing. I keep the mini Charity Pot Body Lotion in my handbag because it’s really tiny and I can use it as a hand cream.

So, it’s done! All the three London beauty hauls are here and I can’t wait to try these products. There are still many on my list of beauty stuff that I want to get from the UK but I’m really pleased with what I got.

London Beauty Haul: High-Street Products (Hair, Body and Nails)

IMG_2319post  IMG_2323post IMG_2325post IMG_2327post IMG_2333post IMG_2336post IMG_2341post IMG_2343post IMG_2344postIMG_2307postIMG_2305post

After posting the high-end products haul last week, I decided to split my drugstore hauls into 2 posts – first is hair, body and nail products and second will be skincare and make-up because as much as I’m going to try making it short, I guess it’s just not possible. The products that I got are from Boots and Superdrug and I tried to find the ones that we don’t have in Norway. It’s actually not so much as it looks and at least, it’s not all for me but for friends and family, as well. Plus, there were so many ‘3 for 2’ or ‘Buy 1 get 2nd half price’ offers that in fact, many products are free.

I will start with the dry shampoos. There isn’t a big variety of dry shampoos in Norway and I wanted to get as many as I could. I got so carried away that I don’t even remember buying the Boots Paradise Island Dry Shampoo and I was surprised when I saw it in my suitcase. The only one that I’ve already tried is the Dove Refresh+Care Dry Shampoo and I’m loving it so far. I’m a fan of Batiste and there are so many scents in the UK, so I got the Batiste Heavenly Volume and Batiste Oriental Dry Shampoos. The last two are COLAB Dry Shampoo in Tokyo and Garnier Ultimate Blends The Silky 7-in-1 Dry Shampoo. I also took with me The Nourishing Repairer 1 Minute Treatment from the same Ultimate Blends range. Speaking of hair treatments, I love leave-in conditioners and hair oils and I decided to get two hair oils: the L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil and the OGX Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco. I’ve never tried anything from Mark Hill before but I’ve heard people talking about their dry shampoo (which I didn’t get). I picked the Holiday Hair Beach Babe Wave Sea Salt Spray and the Big Night Out Only Takes a Minute! 60 Second Detox Gloss Treatment…yes, the full names. It was a random purchase but when I’m now reading so many positive reviews on these products, I’m quite happy that I chose them. I got one tool as well and it’s a classic – the Tangle Teezer! So far, I think it’s totally worth the hype.

Me and my boyfriend actually got just one body product because we have more than enough but we really wanted to get his parents the Sanctuary SPA Luxury Bath Float and it turned out that ‘If you spend £10 or more, you get a gift’. So, we got a pretty box as a gift and inside we found 3 products from the White Lily and Damask Rose line: full-sized body lotion and body wash and a mini body scrub – bargain!

Last but not least, nails. I was very curious about the Barry M nail polishes so I picked Papaya and Almond from their Gelly Hi-Shine series and In a Heart Beat and Lap of Honour from the new Quick Dry line. I’m actually keeping only Almond for myself because it turned out friends and family are curious about Barry M, too…why didn’t I get more? Models Own is another brand that we don’t have here but unfortunately the shades that I was looking for were never available, so I picked only Beach Bag. From Rimmel I got Oh, Mr Darcy! (Finally!) and Grape Sorbet which I feel is the perfect shade for my lovely mom and it goes straight to her. Couldn’t miss to add Berry Stain from Maybelline and their famous Super Stay Gel Nail Colour range to my basket, I have no idea why they’re still not available here. Last but not least, I popped into Topshop with big hopes but sadly, there wasn’t much from what I wanted and at the end I picked just Sweet and Elite and then Sixteen Candles from their Matte Nails. The last one looked almost lavender-y in the store but it turned out it’s baby pink which is a bit disappointing. Hopefully, I didn’t make the same mistake with Sweet and Elite.

One last part of my London haul series left and it will include skincare and make-up!

London Beauty Haul: High-End Products

IMG_2083post IMG_2087post IMG_2089post IMG_2096post IMG_2114post IMG_2122post

I’m finally starting my London haul series and because the high-end products post will be the easiest and tiniest one, I decided to make it first. It has just a few products because there are many luxurious brands available in Norway and the ones that aren’t available here and I was looking for in London, always had their best products sold out. It was quite sad but oh well, I guess I have to keep waiting for NARS and Charlotte Tilbury *sigh*
Something similar actually happened at Boots too! Even the drugstore products that I wanted were always sold out.

I really didn’t need another moisturiser but I have a soft spot for Clarins and I always want to try more products from them. I got their Multi-Active Day Early Wrinkle Correction Cream-Gel. To me cream-gel sounded really suitable for my combination skin and I have to start thinking about preventing the first wrinkles already so hopefully this will help.

I love L’Occitane and I get really excited when I see a store because here we have only small counters with their products. I’m a huge fan of their sets, so I was hoping to get some in London but unfortunately there were no new ones or ones that I haven’t tried. At the end I decided to pick a hand cream because L’Occitane hand creams are some of the best. I haven’t tried the Arlésienne Velvet Hand Cream and the scent was amazing, so this was my choice.

Me and my boyfriend decided to go to Liberty’s and get a present for his parents because they love taking baths, so we picked the Aromatherapy Associates Miniature Bath & Shower Oil Collection. It has 10 oils which are: Inner Strength Bath & Shower Oil, Deep Relax Bath & Shower Oil, Light Relax Bath & Shower Oil, De-Stress Mind Bath & Shower Oil, De-Stress Muscle Bath & Shower Oil, Revive Evening Bath & Shower Oil, Revive Morning Bath & Shower Oil, Support Equilibrium Bath & Shower Oil, Support Lavender & Peppermint Bath & Shower Oil, Support Breathe Bath & Shower Oil. I really hope they will like this collection.

And last but not least, again from Liberty’s I got something that I’ve been wanting for such a long time. It’s the Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler and the reason why I wanted it so bad is because I’ve never used an eyelash curler simply because of fear. Yes, I was always too scared to buy a drugstore curler and twist my eyelashes not knowing what would happen to them. It is a pricey tool but I’m sure it will serve me a long time, I already tried working with it and there is a huge difference. My lashes look prettier even without mascara. I’d still recommend not using curlers instead of risking your eyes with cheap ones.

Have you used any of these products?

Denmark Haul

IMG_1306postIMG_1309post IMG_1307post IMG_1301post IMG_1294post

Last week my boyfriend had a working trip to Denmark and he was told that they’d have a couple of hours around the city so, he asked me to make a list with beauty products that are hard or impossible to find in Norway. The list included mainly items missing at the drugstores here and was pretty short (because I’m nice). He couldn’t find all of the products and that’s why he decided to pick up something extra for me (because he’s nicer).
One of the unexpected items was the Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Honey Drops Body Cream which I’m not sure if I’ll be keeping because my mom adores the series and since it’s the 500 ml jar, I think it would be a great gift. Honestly, I think he got it with exactly the same idea.

And since we’re on a body products topic, it would be nice to mention this wonderful Rituals True Happiness set with Organic Mandarin and Yuzu Shower Foam, Sweet Orange and Cedar Wood Shower Oil, Organic Mandarin and Yuzu Body Scrub, Sweet Orange and Cedar Wood Body Cream. I think it’s a great travel set, the tubes actually have very much product inside, it smells amazing even without opening it, it’s pretty and I can’t wait to try it. It’s a very nice set if you want to get familiar with the brand like me, I’ve seen it many times but it’s the first one that I’ll be trying something from them so, I think it was a good choice of my boyfriend.

Everybody knows the Batiste Dry Shampoo, this one is the original formula and he decided to pick it because he thought a girl can never have enough dry shampoos and because I haven’t tried the classic version.

I’m very excited about the Matas Natur Vitamin E and Organic Aloe Vera Leave-In Conditioner because I love leave-in conditioners. This one is from a Danish brand and if you trust my non-existing Danish, it’s without parabens, colourants and perfume. It has 20 % certified organic aloe vera and you can spray it on a damp hair after washing or to refresh and nourish it between washes. I love the packaging, hope I will love the product as well.

Next up are the skincare and makeup bits. There are two toners – Clinique Clarifying Lotion and Clarins Alcohol-Free Toning Lotion with Iris. Both of them are for oily/combination skin. Normally, I use rose water as a toner and I simply love it but would be interesting for me to try new ones.

I love facial sponges for a light exfoliation or when the face wash is a bit more foamy and it needs some more work to wash it off. These ones are Body Lab Facial Sponges which is perhaps a bit of a random item for you but I just liked the fact that there are 3 inside and I wanted them. It may sound strange to you but there isn’t a big variety of such things here.

The only product that I already tried is the Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer because I just couldn’t help myself. I’ve mentioned that Rimmel is not available in Norway and I had several products from them on my list but apparently, they didn’t have them in Denmark either. So far, I like this concealer, I actually like it very much but would like to have several more uses of it to finally have an opinion.

I also had several shades wishes from the Maybelline Forever Strong Pro. Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe it’s the same as Maybelline Super Stay 7 Day Gel Nail Color (different countries, different product names?) because the colour range looks exactly the same. Unfortunately, they had only Rose Poudré but I can’t wait to try it. It’s really sad that these nail polishes never came to Norway while everybody is raving about them. This one is such a pretty shade,  I can’t even explain it now but I will try to make a post on it once I try it out!

Haul: Burt’s Bees 30th Birthday!

IMG_0904post IMG_0906post

Last month Burt’s Bees celebrated their 30th birthday! I’m sure everybody knows Burt’s Bees and especially their lip balms but basically it’s a skincare brand that is not testing on animals, their products are natural and just wonderful.

Usually, when you have a birthday, you receive presents but Burt’s Bees Norway decided to give presents to the others! They organised an Instagram contest and I was one of the lucky winners. The prize was a box filled with their classics.

I was very excited because I genuinely love the brand, I’ve tried many of their products but there are also some items that I’ll be trying for the first time. I have to say that the box was so cute and wrapped with care, there was a hand-written personal message, candies, a balloon and it was simply amazing. A real birthday present!

Now to the products inside the box.
There is the well-know Beeswax Lip Balm and I’m pretty sure I have at least 5 in the different scents and formulas, this one here is the original one. Pocket-friendly, perfect for all year round but especially in the winter, one of my all-time favourite lip balms.

I’m pretty curious about the Res-Q Ointment because it’s a remedy for bumps, bruises, insect bites and all kinds of minor injuries. I’ve heard a lot about it but never tried it.

I found two hand products in the box – the Hand Salve and the Almond and Milk Hand Cream.

I’ve been using the Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream for a very long time and I’ve actually included it in my first ever post on this blog, that’s how much I love it.

Last but not least is the Coconut Foot Cream which I haven’t tried before and sure I’ll get good use of it in the colder months.

Thank you for the lovely prize Burt’s Bees Norway!
