Sephora Italy Haul | Summer 2017

This past week has been absolutely incredible! After about 14 months of all sorts of issues, I finally felt truly calm and happy. Not sure how long it would last but I’m going to enjoy it while it’s happening.

During my stay in Italy, I purchased a few things from Sephora in store and also placed an online order that was supposed to wait for me after I came back home. Sadly, it was cancelled and I still have no idea why but it would have been nice if they answered their phones.

But let’s focus on the positives. The Caolion Pore Purifying O2 Sparkling Soap has been on my wishlist for a very long time, so I got the mini version of it to try. I didn’t get the full size because two of the ingredients (Shea Butter and Coconut Oil) aren’t the best for my skin but my hopes are high because of the Charcoal, Tea Tree Leaf Oil and Hyaluronic Acid in it. The soap is supposed to be purifying and exfoliating in a gentle way and to remove impurities while balancing sebum production.

I felt like purchasing all the sheet masks but I remembered I still had so many at home, so I only got two. The first one is from Skinfood and it’s the Blueberry one, it’s made to illuminate dull skin. The second one comes from Dr. Jart+ and it’s their Dermask Micro Jet Clearing Solution Sheet Mask that should improve the tone and texture of blemish-prone skin.
I also picked up a trio of minis from Dr. Jart+ that contains the Water Drop Moisturiser, the BB Cream SPF 45 and the Dermaclear Micro Water. The set is great for travelling and I’ve heard many positive reviews on all three products, so I’m very excited to try them out.

I’ve been meaning to purchase the Clinique 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser for over 6 months and somehow I never did. But when I saw it again the other day, I just had to add it to my basket. I still haven’t tried it but I really like some of the other products from the range, so I hope it will be just as good.

As you may see, I adore travel sets and miniatures, so it was only natural for me to get the This Works Can’t Sleep Kit. It contains their famous Deep Sleep Pillow Spray and Stress Check Roll-On that is still new to me but I simply love the calming scent of the pillow spray.

I believe Becca just launched at Sephora Italia, so I was pretty happy to see this Opal Glow on the Go Kit. I haven’t tried anything from the brand but this duo is perfect to get to know their liquids and powders. The set contains minis of the Shimmering Skin Perfector Spotlight and the Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter both in the shade Opal.

If you find yourself in Rome and wonder which Sephora to visit, let the Termini one be part of your choices. I went to at least five of their boutiques and all had something different but the only one that had Hourglass was at the Termini station. I was really surprised because I didn’t know this and when I saw the stand, I just had to stand still for some seconds. Then the swatch perty began and I picked up their Ambient Lighting Blush in the shade Mood Exposure. It’s one of those rosy plum shades that looks like a blusher and a bronzer at the same time. The texture is incredibly soft and finely-milled, blends seamlessly onto the skin and has a beautiful sheen that makes you look glowing and healthy. For me, this is a very pricey powder and I’ve been thinking about purchasing one for a long time, so when I got the chance, I took it. I still need time to decide whether it’s life-changing because I love my Max Factor Creme Puff Blushers, too but it’s definitely a treat and a gorgeous present for someone that would appreciate it.

Speaking of treats, here’s a fantastic one. My boyfriend surprised me with a Tom Ford Soleil Blanc Body Oil which will now forever remind of our beautiful time in Rome. The oil is lightweight and non-greasy but leaves the skin nourished and radiant-looking. I always think it’s best to apply oils on damp skin but it works on dry skin just as well. Soleil Blanc is the ultimate summer scent, warm but light, sultry, floral, sensual… I’ll be featuring this product more on the blog soon for sure.

And because I needed a summer fragrance that is a bit more fresh, I went back to an old favourite of mine. Moschino Fresh has joyful citrus notes, exotic ylang-ylang, juicy raspberries and a floral heart. Many people say it doesn’t last long on them but at the end of the day, I can still feel it on myself and the longer I have it on, the better it smells.

These are my purchases from Sephora for now, I hope the issue will be soon fixed, so that I can finally get my hands on some of their online exclusives. Fingers crossed!

Natural & Organic Beauty Haul | Summer 2017

Natural and organic beauty products are getting more and more easy to find, there have been numerous times I’ve featured such items on my blog but I’ve never done a full post dedicated to them. Whenever I’m home, I try to support local businesses because I can only guess how hard it is to do something like this in a small country and it’s amazing when we share the same values.
So, when I finally got the chance to order something from this famous bio and natural shop called Zoya that actually ships to many European countries, as well, I couldn’t be more excited. I made two orders in separate weeks but I’m showing you all of the products I purchased and I can assure you, there will be a third time.

The first things I’d like to mention are actually home bits. I’ve heard so much about the I/TEMS scented candles that I got all four that were available online (I’m showing you only two because the other two were already in use) and I’m waiting for their new collection that should be launching soon. The scents I got are Black Vanilla, Sandalwood, Lavender and Rose. All of them create a lovely atmosphere, they are so different but none is too overpowering or sharp, they are so beautiful. The candles are hand poured and contain essential oils, the wicks are 100% cotton and the burn time is suggested to be around 40-60 hours.

The Soap Factorty soaps smell wonderful and they’re 100% natural, the scents I got are Orange & Cinnamon and Breeze (Ylang-Ylang). They also have shampoos, body washes, lip balms, face washes.

Then there are a few caffeine-free teas from English Tea Shop because they are easy to take when I travel.

It wouldn’t be me if I don’t get some chocolate and I haven’t tried anything from Casa Kakau before, so I went for the Dark & Almond chocolate. It’s and artisan and handmade chocolate, they’ve used stone grinder for the cocoa beans which are carefully selected beforehand.

You can always find an energy bar or two in my handbag because of my low blood pressure and the Musala with almond and cashew nuts sounded lovely. I’ve already tried some of the Leya raw bars with filling and this time I decided to get the Carrot-Raisins-Cardamom one. Also, the shop gave me two Trek flapjacks because I reached a certain amount of purchases in my basket.

It is no secret that I adore face mists, floral waters, toners… I just think they feel really refreshing on the skin and they do make a difference when I have them in my routine. Rose and Lavender oils are probably the most famous Bulgarian export, all the luxury brands get their supplies from here, it’s so precious and I always stock up on rose and lavender water when I’m home. The quality is amazing and let’s be honest, if you buy it abroad, it would be ten times more expensive.
Alteya Organics have all sizes and types of bottles you’d probably need and I love their 100 ml spray bottles that you can take even on the plane with you. Now I regret not getting a few more but I’m pretty happy with the Organic Bulgarian Rose Water, Organic Bulgarian Melissa Water which I’ve never tried before and the 500 ml Organic Bulgarian White Rose Water. White roses are some of the rarest that you can find (I mean the type you can use to extract oils from), so it’s very special for me to have a bottle of it. The Juniper Water from Damascena is meant to balance oily/combination and blemish-prone skin and to tighten the pores, so I’m really excited to try it.

There are two micellar waters in my basket, I’ve been trying to find the Madara Micellar Water with Hyaluronic Acid for years and I’m really happy I finally purchased it. It’s only 100 ml and it’s pricey but it contains Rose Water and Lactic Acid and my skin loves this acid.
The second one comes in a 50 ml bottle and I got it because I need it for my next trip, it’s from Cattier and has similar ingredients to the Madara one – Rose Water, Lactic Acid but also Sweet Almond Oil.

The Zoya Goes Pretty Rosehip Face Balm is for mum because she has dry skin and I’ve heard many people talk about this product and how good it is. It also has Shea Butter and Jojoba Oil in it and she already started using it as her evening moisturiser.

I got only one haircare product and it’s once again because of my upcoming trip. I’ve been meaning to try Andalou Naturals shampoos for so long and I have high hopes for this mini of their Argan Stem Cell Shampoo. I can’t say I have thinning hair but what attracted me to this shampoo was the promise to leave the hair really clean but also nourished.

There are a few more things that I’m not featuring here today but I have to say I’m really excited about the raspberry wine because it’s something I can never find in Norway. I’d like to mention that some products are meant for friends or my boyfriend’s relatives and as much as I love shopping and trying new products, I never keep so many things for myself.
I did shop from one place only but I’m not sponsored or told to mention it, they don’t even know I have a (small) blog. I genuinely enjoy shopping on their website, they even contacted me when one of the products I wanted wasn’t available and asked if I could wait a day in order to receive it with the rest of my purchases. This means a lot to me and I can’t wait to get more natural and organic items.

Drugstore Beauty Haul | Fall 2016

Photo 02-09-2016 12 54 20postPhoto 02-09-2016 12 53 36postPhoto 02-09-2016 12 52 49 (1)post
I can’t hide it, I just love autumn and the fall beauty launches. I genuinely think that spring and fall beauty releases are the most exciting ones and always look forward to seeing them.

I’m away from Norway which means it’s the perfect time to do some drugstore shopping. I’ve mentioned before that there aren’t that many affordable brands in the country, so whenever I travel, I try to stock up on some highstreet products.

Not all of the items here are necessarily autumn launches but these two from Essence are quite new and I just loved the shades when I saw them. There’s a new Try it. Love it! Fall/Winter 2016 Collection from the brand with products like face and eyeshadow palettes, nail polishes, bases and lipsticks. If you’ve seen some of my posts, you’d know I’m a big fan of the brand’s lipsticks because they have a lot of different shades and finishes. I picked up the Matt Matt Matt Lipstick in the shade 02 Perfect Match which isn’t drying on the lips, at all, it’s light and creamy, very comfortable to wear and I believe there were two more shades. If you have trouble finding the right matte lipstick, give this one a go because it looks quite matte but doesn’t feel matte. It lasts about 4 hours on me which is great, especially considering how affordable it is. Honestly, I’ve been using this lipstick every single day for the past two weeks, even if I’ve applied something else in the morning. I just love it and in fact, it doesn’t look as dark as it seems on the swatch.
The second product from the brand that I added to my shopping basket was their new Satin Touch Blush in the shade 20 Satin Love. This one is in the most beautiful rosewood shade that is perfect for autumn, there’s a slight sheen to it but no glitter and I forgot how pigmented Essence blushes were! Really happy with these two products and I’d recommend checking them out.

I needed a new face powder and I remembered many people were talking about Catrice powders. The decision was tough because there were many on the display and also, how gorgeous the latest Catrice products look? I limited myself to their All Matt Plus Shine Control Powder in 010 Transparent. It’s a finely-milled powder that doesn’t make my face look flat, it mattifies but also gives radiance to the skin and I love it. I do have to use it a couple of times a day because it’s still quite warm and the shine peaks through but I really regret not checking out Catrice powders earlier.

There’s a brand I haven’t seen before called Aura and I was intrigued by their liquid lipsticks, sadly, the shades I liked were sold out. So, I decided to try their Correct Me! Concealer in the shade 302 Pastel Beige. I was surprised by the shade range, they had so many shades and it was difficult to pick the right one with the bad lighting in the store but I think this one is pretty good on me. I can use it around the face or under my eyes, as it’s not too light or brightening and I have to say, it works really well. The texture is creamy and not too thick, it has a very good coverage and lasts a decent amount of time. I do need to set it with powder because it creases a bit but I really like it. Another item from them is the Bronzer/Contour Brush and I have to say, their brushes are hit and miss but I like this one, I haven’t used it that much yet but I like how soft it is.

Golden Rose have so many lip products that it’s slightly overwhelming. I’ve heard a lot about their Matte Lipstick Crayons and I picked up two shades but I already lost one of them, so I’ll have to go back and get a new one. The shade number 11 is a really pretty berry one and I can’t wait to wear it in the autumn/winter. The product goes on smoothly, feels comfortable and I haven’t noticed any drying, so far.

I also picked up a few skincare products that I’m curious about. The first one is Chamomile Water from Armina Bio. I love floral waters and this one feels very soothing and refreshing on the skin, it has a light scent and I think I might have to get the rest of the waters from the brand.
Still haven’t tried this Balea Aqua Moisturising Serum but I love the eye cream from the same range and I’m happy I also found the Sheet Mask.
Purederm is a Korean brand that has brilliant face wipes (and that comes from a person that doesn’t like face wipes), so I picked up their Collagen Eye Zone Mask patches. I’ve tried them only once and they feel really soothing and refreshing.

The only hair product comes from L’Oreal and it’s the Arginine Resist Double Elixir Express Conditioner. I used to use their spray leave-in conditioners and I remembered how shiny and soft my hair was and everyone was telling me it smelled amazing. This is a bi-phased treatment and I use it on both, damp or dry hair, it doesn’t make it greasy or dirty-looking. I love how it makes my hair easy to comb, glossy and soft, it also smells of berries.

These won’t be my last drugstore purchases this month, so if you have any recommendations about what I should take a look at, please leave me a comment!

Munich Beauty Haul | June 2016

DSC_0234post DSC_0236post
Last week, my boyfriend had a trip to Munich. He asked me if I needed anything and although I really didn’t, there were a few products that seemed interesting to me and that could be found only in Germany. Sadly, most of them were sold out, so he picked up things he thought I might like.

The Kaufmanns Cream was one of the items that I really wanted to stock up on (luckily he got 3!) because I love using it when my lips are really dry and there isn’t another place where they have it. There’s also a new tube of the amazing multi-purpose Weleda Skin Food which is great because it’s the 75 ml one and it turned out that it’s not so easy to find this bigger version. Another skincare items is the Alverde Wild Rose Facial Oil which I’ve been wanting for such a long time but always forget to get when I’m in Germany or home. My mum talks about it all the time, she loves it and I hope it will get along with my skin, as well.

I love the Ebelin Professional brushes, so I wanted another one of their most popular Blending Brush and also decided to try the Eyeshadow & Concealer Brush which seems a bit stiff and hard at the moment but I haven’t tried it more than a couple of times.

The mini hair masks from Swiss O’ Par aren’t something new for me, I like how portable they are, they have many scents to choose from and my boyfriend decided to pick up the Orange, Maracuja and Kiwi ones. On my list, I also had my beloved Balea Peach & Coconut Hair Milk, a fantastic leave-in conditioner from the drugstore. Plus, it smells of peaches rather than coconut, doesn’t leave my hair feeling greasy and makes it shiny and soft.

I’ve shared before that L’Occitane and their products feel very sentimental to me, I always connect them to trips and stories, so my boyfriend picked up two items from them. They’re both from the Cherry Blossom range and they are Bath & Shower Gel and Solid Perfume. L’Occitane are famous for their amazing body washes, so I can’t wait to try this one but also, I’ve been so curious about their solid perfumes! They are adorable-looking, you can carry them around in your bag and top up your fragrance throughout the day and this scent is just perfect for the spring and summer, delicate, feminine and a bit sweet.
He also noticed some new shower foams from Bilou and picked up the Cherry Blossom and Splashy Melon scents. I haven’t tried them yet but I learnt they are pretty popular in Germany at the moment.
Balea always surprise with new scents and huge tubes of their body washes, so my better half added the Sweet Smoothie Shower Gel to his shopping basket. Another item from Balea is the new limited edition Body Gelée with Mint and Watermelon scent. I really wanted to try it because it sounded interesting and indeed, it is. I think it’s great for the warmer months because it sinks into the skin very quickly, leaving a fresh scent. It doesn’t feel sticky, at all and although, it doesn’t have the best moisturising properties, it’s still a great one to use after a morning shower, for example.

Unfortunately, it seems that Yves Rocher have discontinued their signature fruity fragrances. I’m not completely sure if that’s the case but it makes me very sad because they were perfect for the summer days. At the end, my boyfriend decided to pick up two of their deodorants in the Lotus Flower and Spanish Pomegranate scents.

Me and my mum (plus my boyfriend’s granny) have something like an obsession with soaps. There are so many beautiful ones with gorgeous scents that it’s hard to stay neutral to them. We’ve had a few of the Crabtree & Evelyn soaps before and we loved them, so my boyfriend decided to get the Pear & Pink Magnolia, Black Sea Mud & Seaweed and Almond Milk & Honey ones. On the way back, he saw a Jo Malone counter and picked up their Blackberry & Bay Bath Soap which is almost too beautiful to use and smells amazing.

I’ll be sharing more about some of the products once I’ve tried them for a few weeks but so far, I’m really enjoying the new additions and I’m quite happy to have a backup of some old favourites.

London Beauty Haul | Spring 2016

DSC_0088post DSC_0089post DSC_0094postWhen I’m lucky to go to London, I always have a list with beauty purchases that I’d like to make. It’s pretty easy to find high-end brands in Norway but there are so many high-street gems in the UK and only there that I have to admit, I feel jealous. Plus, they always have amazing offers and you end up getting a lot for half price or even for free. So, here’s what I found mainly in Boots and Superdrug.

Skincare
I really wanted to try the new Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Jelly Moisturiser with Extract of Berry as I like a few products from the original series but they had a 3 for 2 going on, so I also picked up the matching Refreshing Jelly Facial Wash and the Body Scrub.
Superdrug also had some interesting-looking new skincare products and I stocked up on their famous Simply Pure Hydrating Serum for sensitive skin, the Clearly Youthful Triple Action Cleanser/Mask/Scrub with AHAs and BHAs and the Naturally Radiant Glycolic Overnight Peel with Plant Extracts. I just can’t wait to try these skincare products, everyone raves about them!
I’ve never tried the La Roche-Posay‘s Serozinc and I’ve heard so many positive reviews on it that I had to get a bottle of it. I love face mists and I hope this will be great on my combination skin. Speaking of mists, I was looking for the L’Occitane Perfecting Mist with Peony Extract for weeks and I’m really happy I finally found it. Another La Roche-Posay product that I wanted to try was the Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser and although I wasn’t sure if I needed another cleanser at that moment, it had such a big discount that I couldn’t help myself.
A few of the LUSH stores attracted me with their colourful displays and I had to take some of their soaps, they just smell amazing! I also picked up the Mint Julips Lip Scrub because my lips were pretty dry after the flights and their Bubblegum Lip Scrub is a favourite of mine, so I decided to try this one.
On the way back, I noticed this cute little set from Neal’s Yard Remedies at the airport and since I’ve always been curious about the brand, I decided to take it. It contains a sachet of their Rejuvenating Frankincense Refining Cleanser and minis of their White Tea Facial Mist, White Tea Enriching Facial Mask, Wild Rose Beauty Balm and Beauty Sleep Concentrate. Seems like a great skincare travel set.

Make-up
Skincare and body products are the ones I tend to get more of when I travel somewhere and once again, the make-up purchases aren’t that many but they’re still pretty exciting to me. I believe we now have the Max Factor Creme Puff Blushes in Norway but I saw so many girls picking them up in London that I took one to try, I fell in love with it and came back for two more. The ones I have are in 15 Seductive Pink, 30 Gorgeous Berries and 10 Nude Mauve. If you haven’t tried them, you should, they are stunning and I regret not trying them before but better late than never.
When I went to London last year, the Collection Eyes Uncovered palettes were sold out everywhere. This time, I managed to find a couple of them but I still couldn’t get my hands on all I wanted. Still, I’m happy I saw them in Nude and Nude Rose but they should protect them somehow, considering how easy it is to open them. You could see fingerprints on most of the palettes although they were not testers which isn’t very pleasant.
Make-up fixing sprays were never something that I was drawn to but I’m always curious when a drugstore brand creates a product that is believed to be a high-end territory. And L’Oreal Infallible Fixing Mist is indeed a great product, I used it a few times and my make-up looked much better than usual at the end of the day.
Maybelline Lash Sensational was basically thrown into my basket by the lady working at Superdrug because of the offers they had and I thought it was finally time for me to try this hyped up mascara.
The purchase of Soap and Glory Archery 2-in-1 Brow Filling Pencil and Brush is standard for me, it’s my favourite eyebrow pencil, I can’t find it anywhere else, so I picked up a few of them because my mum loves it, as well.
My plans involved a lot of Rimmel purchases but at the end I found only two items I wanted. Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush in 010 Santa Rose is a beautiful and natural-looking shade, I think it would be great for spring and summer. Plus, it’s so tiny and perfect for travelling.
I’ve always been a fan of Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder but I never had it in 001 Transparent, so this was the time to pick it up.

Body and Hair
Body washes are something I really love and have to have tons of because I use them up quite quickly. Original Source Limited Edition Wild Cherry and Nettle Body Wash and Imperial Leather Summer Days Nourishing Body Wash with Shea Butter & Honeysuckle are body washes that I haven’t seen and haven’t tried, they smelled amazing and I had to take them.
L’Occitane always have amazing and adorable sets and I picked up these hand cream miniatures Amande Delicious Hands with Almond Milk and Delightful Rose Hand Cream which are perfect to carry around in your bag.
Marie Claire had three different scents of Neal’s Yard Remedies hand creams in their May issue. I couldn’t track down the Garden Mint & Bergamot one but I got the Geranium & Orange Hand Cream and the Bee Lovely to Your Hands Hand Cream.
I really needed some hair treatments now that my hair is longer than ever, so I saw the new Garnier Ultimate Blends The Strength Restorer Serum with Honey Bee Propolis and because I like some of the products from the series, I decided to add it to my shopping basket. Also, TRESemmé Keratin Smooth 7 Day Smooth System Heat Activated Treatment has always been on my shopping list and I finally found it.
COLAB is now available in Norway and although it’s three times the price in the UK, it’s stil a bit easier to get it. However, there’s just a limited number of their products on the market here. I picked up a mini of the Sheer + Invisible New York Dry Shampoo, a full size Sheer + Invisible London Dry Shampoo and Extreme Volume Monaco Dry Shampoo and last but not least, the Luxe Shine Glossing Hair Fragrance which I’m incredibly curious about.

Nails
After picking up dozens of nail polishes last time, this time I limited myself to just one range and it had to be from Barry M. I got a couple of their new Coconut Infusion Nail Paint polishes the first day and then got back for two more and two more… The shades that I have are in Starfish, Sunkissed, Tiki Hut, Flamingo, Aloha, Surfboard and Bikini and I’m missing only two that complete the range.

Miscellaneous
Lottie London Soap Star Solid Brush Cleanser was in every girl’s shopping basket (sorry, girls, I’m always curious what is popular in the city) and it’s believed to be a dupe for the Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser. Many said that it’s even better!
I also picked up the Real Techniques 2 pack Miracle Complexion Sponges and as you can see one of them is already in use, I love this sponge and I’m a bit sad I didn’t pick up more. They are now available in Norway but we don’t have the 2 pack one.
Now, I never wear falsies but these Eylure Fleur de Force Fleur Loves Eyelashes looked so beautiful that I justified my purchase with: ”I can only get them here!”.

London is amazing for beauty shopping (and not only) and I’m looking forward to trying all these products!
