When it comes to bases, I’m looking for sheer to medium coverage that looks natural, finish that isn’t really dewy because of my combination skin but also not looking flat, longevity and comfortable wear. I have to admit, I’m not the biggest foundation fan but there have been amazing releases in the past couple of years. I’m still trying new ones but there are a few that just never leave my make-up bag and I tend to use them quite often.
Starting off with my weekend multi-tasking cream, Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector SPF 20*. It can be used as a primer or on its own because it’s really really sheer but it’s great for the summer days when you just want to even out the skin tone, everything to look a bit smoother and natural, to last all day and to feel light on the skin. This product combines skincare benefits and sun protection with the coverage of sheer foundation. It’s very moisturising without looking oily and I like mixing it with my face cream because they just work great together and I don’t even need a beauty sponge or a brush to apply it. I also love the tube, it’s incredibly beautiful but also travel-friendly and I have to say, this is probably the base that I’ve been using the most in the past 3 months.
When I want a bit more coverage, I usually go for Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream SPF 15. It actually has much higher coverage than a regular CC cream, it’s a bit more luminious in comparison to the Urban Decay one but still doesn’t look shiny. I’ve gone through several tubes of this one and I think I can never stop loving it. It just looks beautiful on the skin, it’s lightweight and lasts all day, you can find it at the drugstore and honestly, you can never go wrong with Bourjois bases. I love how my skin looks more healthy and smooth with it and I already have a back-up.
Don’t worry, there is a proper foundation pick and it has to be my all-time favourite Dior DIORSKIN Forever Perfect Skin-Perfecting Foundation SPF 35. For me, this is just the perfect foundation and the best one I’ve ever tried. I need the tiniest amount, a thin layer covers my imperfections really well while still showing skin and looking natural. It has a soft finish that is matte but also radiant and simply beautiful and flawless. It doesn’t feel heavy, at all and it’s really long-wearing. I love everything about this foundation, the bottle, the texture, the coverage…
My mum has dry skin and she loves it, too. Honestly, I don’t think there can be a person who wouldn’t like it and if I have to choose only one foundation to use, it would be this one without a doubt.
These three lovely bases have been my most-worn ones in the past few months and I’m really happy that there’s more and more on the market for every skin type.
