Cleansing is the most important part of the skincare routine because it removes all the impurities built up throughout the day, prepares the skin for the steps that follow and even enhances them. No matter how amazing the rest of the products in our regimen can be, if our skin isn’t well-cleansed, they just won’t give us the best results.
I’m passionate about my cleansers, I always double cleanse and I’m really excited when a new cleansing product is released. Estée Lauder are adding a few new items to their signature Advanced Night Repair collection and I had the chance to try the Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Foam*. I also went to my local beauty boutique and got a sample size of the Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Balm. Although I’ve used it only about 4-5 times, I can say I liked it, considering my skin usually doesn’t get along with balm cleansers. It does make my eyes cloudy, so I wouldn’t use it around the eye area but it takes make up off really well and it doesn’t break me out. It feels pretty silky, it’s not too heavy or greasy and it’s quite calming.
But now to the subject of this blog post, Estée Lauder Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Foam*. It comes in an easy to use tube and it’s actually a lightweight cleansing cream. The texture is milky, it doesn’t really foam, it kind of emulsifies in contact with water. I wish they didn’t use the word ‘foam’ because I know many people that are scared of foaming cleansers and will be put off by this. Foaming cleansers often are drying or stripping, this one has a luxurious creamy feel, it gently but thoroughly cleanses without leaving the skin feeling tight or irritated.
It has a very delicate and calming scent, almost like an oil cleanser which makes me enjoy my evening rituals even more.
I use this product as a second cleanse, I remove my make-up with one or two different products before that and then I cleanse my skin with the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Foam* avoiding the eye area. I prefer it that way because the formula is fortified with Lavender and Chamomile aromatic blend, Watermelon fruit extract, Lentil fruit extract and Apple fruit extract which are powerful antioxidants that make my skin feel really soft and hydrated.
I feel like this cleanser could be suitable for different skin types because it’s neither too rich, nor too drying and just feels lovely on the skin. I have combination skin that is often dehydrated, as well and I haven’t faced any drying with this product. It doesn’t break me out, it doesn’t take away the moisture I need and it’s not harsh, at all (it doesn’t contain sulfates). After sweeping on a toner afterwards, there is no grime left on the cotton pad, so the skin is properly cleansed but also feeling repaired and nourished.
Estée Lauder Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Foam* retails for 295 kr in Norway. I’ve been using it every evening for about a month now and I’m really happy with how my skin feels and looks at the moment. If you’re looking for a caring evening cleanser that won’t strip your skin, I’d recommend giving this one a try. It has a lotion-like texture, it’s not too foaming, it doesn’t dry out the skin and just leaves it well-cleansed, soft and ready for the next steps of the evening skincare routine.
