L’Oréal Paris have been releasing many new products lately and they seem different in the different countries. Like these Colour Riche La Palette Lips in Nude* and Red*. In some countries they contain 5 shades and the packaging is black but honestly, I much prefer the one that we have in Norway because it has 6 different shades, a big mirror and the compact looks much more elegant and pretty.
The palettes have 6 of the most iconic Colour Riche shades in satin texture. I can’t lie, I’m a nude lip lover and I adore the palette with the neutral shades. It has everything from pale peachy pink to deep browny pink. The selection is very nice which makes it easy to choose a shade for variety of skin tones but you can also mix together shades and create your own. I often do that and when I find that perfect nude or mauve colour, I try to remember which shades and in what order I mixed, it’s quite fun.
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the red palette, as I was expecting to see mostly winter appropriate shades but you get everything from coral red to dark berry red. This makes it possible to use all year round which is great.
Another surprise for me was the brush. We all are a bit sceptical when it comes to lip and eye brushes included in different palettes but this one is actually really good and precise.
The shades in both of the palettes are very flattering. I use the middle ones in the nude selection on a daily basis but I also pair the lightest and the darkest ones with other colours, so I’m getting a good use out of all of them.
Now, if you’re not a fan of scented lipsticks, you wouldn’t like the strong scent of the lipsticks in these palettes. For me, personally, it’s not a problem because it doesn’t linger that long.
The lasting power on me is the same as of the original Colour Riche lipsticks, which is about 2-3 hours and I think it’s quite good for lipsticks with such soft and comfortable to wear texture.
I now have too many lip products in my handbag and although this compact easily gets fingerprints on, it’s really handy to carry around for touch-ups during the day or even changing the lip colour after a meal.
The suggested retail price in Norway is 179 kr which is really affordable, especially considering the price of an individual lipstick here and the fact that you get 6 different shades and the opportunity to create even more by mixing them.
Have you tried any of the new spring releases from L’Oreal and what are you most curious about? I can’t wait to get some of the new nail polishes.
