More than a month ago, I was looking for a new night cream because suddenly, the weather in Norway got really cold and my skin felt pretty bad. My cheeks were incredibly red and dry, it was painful and although I was still sticking to my face mists and oils, I needed something else on top to just lock this moisture.
Then, I was kindly sent to try the new Clinique Superdefense Night Recovery Moisturiser* and I thought: “This just might be what I need!”. I’ve tried many Clinique skincare products and I’ve always had amazing experience with them but when I see a product stated as suitable for dry skin, I can’t help but think it might break my combination skin out. Surprisingly for me, this moisturiser didn’t break me out, at all and I kept using it, so in the next lines you can find what my skin and I think of it.
I use this cream as the last step of my evening skincare routine, just like any other night moisturiser. After the first week of using it, my skin looked much brighter, incredibly hydrated and plump. There was no sign of the dry and flaky areas on my cheeks, while the T-zone didn’t get more oily or anything like that. I just had nourished and radiant skin, ready for the new day and actually, my make-up sat much better, too.
Somehow, the texture of this moisturiser reminds me a bit of the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask (review here) but it goes a bit sticky on me while the Clinique Superdefense Night Recovery Moisturiser* absorbs really nicely and quickly. My boyfriend has pretty dry and sensitive skin, so he tried it several times, as well and loved it. Plus, Clinique are famous for their fragrance-free products which is always a win for men and sensitive skin types.
The moisturiser contains Vitamin C and Vitamin E to maintain healthy and radiant skin, Ergothioneine which is an antioxidant amino acid that helps protect the skin from pollution and Rosemary Leaf Extract for strengthening the skin’s barrier from environmental aggressors, while stimulating natural collagen production.
This moisturiser also helps reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and loss of firmness which I still can’t really see but indeed, my skin looks plumper.
I’m really happy that the dryness around my cheeks is gone and my whole face is nourished and soft, my skin looks healthier, smoother and luminous. You can find the Clinique Superdefense Night Recovery Moisturiser* for the price of 440 kr in Norway. The fact that it’s a bit pricey is probably the only negative thing I can say about this product but as you can see, I’ve been using it for more than a month and it barely looks touched, so it’s going to last me a long time.
Have you tried this night moisturiser?
