Urban Decay | Gwen Stefani Collection

DSC_0440postDSC_0444postDSC_0463postDSC_0479postDSC_0461postDSC_0751post DSC_0758postAfter the huge success of the UD | Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette, their collaboration continues with a lot more products added. There are lip pencils, lipsticks, brow kit and blush palette which I’m currently eyeing because it has the gorgeous and finely milled Afterglow formula.

I was lucky to get sent a few of the products and I’m going to start with the Urban Decay | Gwen Stefani Brow Box* which comes in one shade Bathwater Blonde (dark blonde/ light blonde) but the powders are versatile enough to be suitable for a range of blonde and brunette tones. On the outside the Brow Box looks a bit like a mini of the eyeshadow and blush palettes from the line, it’s really pretty and cute.

Inside you get two brow powder shades, a brow wax, two mirrors (one is magnifying), mini tweezers and two mini angled brushes to shade and sculpt. Now, the tools aren’t that great but on a recent weekend trip, the Brow Box was the only eyebrow product I took away with me and I actually managed to do my brows pretty well with the mini brushes.

I’m more of a brow pencil girl, so I don’t have much experience with brow powders but these ones are really easy to work with, so even if you’re a newbie like me, you won’t struggle with the product.

The darker shade is a good match for me but sometimes I mix the two shades together and still looks nice although I have pretty dark brows. I use the powder first and then set the hairs with the wax if I want a more natural look. This way, I just fill in the sparse areas but I still get youthful and everyday-appropriate brows.
I tried to use the wax first and then the powder and the result was more defined and bold brows while I actually needed much less product from the powders. There are many ways you can play around with this brow kit.
I’m really getting a good use out of this product and I think it will be my travel brow kit, as it has everything in one box which is really handy.

I have two lipstick shades, Firebird* (a deep fuchsia cream) and Rock Steady* (dark wine red), plus its matching 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Rock Steady*. There are 8 lipstick shades in total, 2 of which are online exclusives and 6 matching lip pencils. I love the lip liners, I’ve shared with you many times that my favourite shade is Naked and the formula is just amazing, long-lasting, opaque and non-drying.
I have to say that I adore the texture of the lipsticks! They feel like a balm on the lips, so light and creamy but they have such an intense colour payoff and I really wish there was a dusty rose shade. Gwen’s signature look is the bright red lip, so there are mostly reds in this range but there’s also a nude. Only one of the shades is completely matte, those that I got have satin finish. They feel really comfortable on the lips and I think Rock Steady* is a great colour for the winter. These lipsticks are incredibly long-lasting, especially Firebird* which is almost impossible to take off.

Part 2 of the Urban Decay | Gwen Stefani Collection is already available in stores and online in Norway. What products are you most excited about?

  1. Great review! I really wanted the blush palette but I have a range of blushes that were similar shades, so I skipped on it and got the wonderland lip liner and the naked foundation recently (made a post about the event I went to). I really like the lipsticks and I am still on the fence on whether to get ex-girlfriend and I found a dupe for the firebird I will be getting!

    1. Thank you so much! Wow, what’s the dupe for Firebird that you found?
Ex-Girlfriend looks really pretty but I always think there are so many similar shades out there…the formula is gorgeous though…

      1. Colourpop is launching a new liquiz lip line today that is ultra silk lips. They have a shade that looks identical on the videos I have seen and it is called The Rabbit. I am going to try and get it today
