You may have noticed that there aren’t many base reviews on this blog. I’m just not a big foundation fan, I often think they are too heavy for my combination skin, they tend to be quite dewy and even if they’re matte, the shine still peeks through a couple of hours later. What I want from a foundation is to be long-wearing, matte but without looking flat, to feel comfortable on the skin and to not sit like a mask. That’s why I prefer to stick to my tinted moisturisers or CC creams, as they look a bit more natural and lightweight.
With every beauty purchase I made in January, I’ve been given a sample size of the re-formulated Dior DIORSKIN Forever Perfect Skin-Perfecting Foundation SPF 35, plus their DIORSKIN Forever & Ever Wear Primer and Loose Powder. So, I’ve been using these products for about three weeks, I really like them but I realised that I’m so picky when it comes to foundation that I need to test it out 3-4 weeks, the way I’m testing a skincare product, before purchasing the full size.
But here I am, showing you the full size of
probably my all-time favourite foundation…
The way I like to apply DIORSKIN Forever Perfect Skin-Perfecting Foundation SPF 35 is by dotting a bit of the product around my face and blending it out with a sponge but a brush works just as good. I have a bit of redness around my cheeks and I was surprised that even a thin layer of the foundation covered it pretty well but it still showed skin. It feels very light and looks really natural. The finish is soft matte but luminous, it simply looks flawless and I like that it’s buildable, it just never seems to look cakey.
At the end of the day, the foundation looks exactly the way it did right after application. Sometimes, I don’t even powder after applying it and normally, I always have to powder if I don’t want to look like a shiny mess. The best thing is that it feels great on the skin, it didn’t break me out like many foundations actually do and it’s not heavy at all.
Another good thing is that it comes with a pump which is really handy. I have to say that the three Dior products I mentioned earlier, make a great combination together, it’s just stunning!
I can’t recommend this product enough to all of you with combination or oily skin. If you’re on the hunt for a new foundation, get a sample to try and you probably wouldn’t want to use another one.
The re-formulated Dior DIORSKIN Forever Perfect Skin-Perfecting Foundation SPF 35 is long-lasting and lightweight, looks natural, it’s matte but radiant and is the best one for my skin that I’ve tried, so far!
