To me lip crayons are probably the most comfortable form of lip product to throw in your bag. They are balmy, they are tinted and you don’t need a mirror to apply them. Unfortunately, there aren’t that many budget lip crayons out there.
Catrice Pure Shine Colour Lip Balm is a great drugstore option. I see that the brand is already available on some online beauty shops, as well as at physical drugstores, so it’s more and more easy to find it and it’s not available only in Germany like before.
These lip crayons come in 6 shades and I have two of them. 010 Rose & Woody is a light brown shade with rose undertones and 040 My Cherry Berry is a darker pink shade. They are sheer but they’re actually pigmented enough to not see the natural colour of the lips showing through.
The formula is really light but it lasts about 2-3 hours on me. It’s pretty glossy, at first feels a bit waxy but then it goes quite balmy and non-sticky. It’s very comfortable to wear and doesn’t dry out my lips. It has a light Vanilla scent that’s not too overpowering. I like that it’s a twist-up pen and you don’t need to sharpen a huge crayon.
Catrice often change their assortment and it’s quite frustrating when you love something from them and you suddenly realise it’s been discontinued. Luckily, these lip crayons are part of their permanent range, so I’d recommend checking them out if you come across the brand’s counter.
