A Budget Coral Shade for Summer

IMG_3056postIMG_3060post IMG_3064postIMG_3452postCoral shades are strictly reserved for summer, they look great on tanned skin, they’re vibrant and fresh. Today I decided to show you a budget-friendly option that is quite impressive.

Actually, I got the p2 Pure Colour Lipstick in the shade 059 Copacabana randomly. My boyfriend was in Germany and after he almost completed my list with beauty wishes, he decided to choose a bit different from my usual lipstick choices shade. He thought it would look good on me and he heard me talking about how I wanted to try something from the DM drugstore’s own brand p2.
I don’t have anything like this shade in my lipstick collection, so I was curious to try it out.

It’s a pretty coral with no shimmer, it’s more orange-y than pink, goes really opaque in one swipe and feels very creamy and comfortable to wear. Personally, I’m not a fan of the packaging as it gets fingerprints and it’s a bit bulky but the lipstick itself is an interesting one.

I do think this shade will divide people into two groups – one will absolutely love it and the other would probably hate it. I think it’s mostly a matter of application. The thing is that the texture and the opacity of this colour can make the product set into the lines of the lips, it’s definitely not a pretty look. I found a solution for myself by just dabbing the product lightly on my lips straight from the bullet and then tap it in with fingertips. It looks much more natural and not so heavy. Another step that I wouldn’t miss with this lipstick is to first exfoliate and moisturise my lips.
I’m curious to know if the rest of the shades perform the same way.

Copacabana is definitely an eye-catching shade, so it wouldn’t be my everyday lipstick of choice but it’s a really pretty summer colour.

Have you tried any of the p2 lipsticks?
