LUSH Tea Tree Toner Tab

I really like toners, in fact, I love them! They remove the last trace of make-up after cleansing, they feel refreshing and soothing, they can exfoliate, as well. I admit that when I was younger I used to skip the moisturising step because my skin was getting a bit crazy and oily (wrong, so wrong, don’t skip this step!) but I never missed to apply rose water which is still my favourite toner.

When I saw this toner tab from LUSH in one of their London stores several weeks ago, I had to grab one to try. Now I regret not getting more but at least, good news is that it wasn’t a disappointment.

LUSH Tea Tree Toner Tab is like a bath bomb for your sink or bowl of hot (not boiling) water. You drop the tab in a bowl or sink with hot water and it will fizz, then you cover up with a towel and you steam your face with blend of essential oils. It has Tea Tree which is antiseptic and antibacterial, perfect for blemish-prone skin and Aloe Vera that is very gentle but has a bit of a cooling effect. The steam opens your pores and then the essential oils are absorbed. I held my head over the bowl for about 15 minutes, you can do it as long as you want and feel comfortable. It was really relaxing for me. Then I washed my face with my usual cleanser and when the water cooled a bit, I used a cotton pad to apply as a regular toner. My skin felt incredibly soft and clean and looked glowy.

I decided to keep the water in a travel spray bottle and use it as a liquid toner after that. The tab doesn’t have any preservatives, so the bottle should be stored in a fridge for just a couple of days, I used mine 3-4 days and it was ok.

I didn’t have major breakouts, so I can’t say how it performs on that field but it worked really well on my combination skin, didn’t make me oily, it was very gentle but minty at the same time. On the next day, my skin was very soft and radiant. I’d definitely get some more once I have the chance to be near a LUSH store.

Have you tried any solid face toners?
