Springtime is for fresh skin, glossy hair, clean nails, fluttery eyelashes and flushed look…or at least for me. It’s the time when I put aside the darker lipsticks and berry nail shades and welcome the simple and more natural colours.
I always use a sheer base, so there isn’t much of a change – a CC cream or a tinted moisturiser is best because it doesn’t feel heavy on my combination skin. I rarely use blushes because I have a bit of a natural redness on my cheeks and I use it in the warmer months.
My mascara favourite is still Benefit Roller Lash (review here), such a great product if you want well separated lashes with a curl that lasts all day.
I know that I’ll be switching my lipsticks a lot in the spring but there will be basically two options – the nude lip and the pink-y one. I love having lip balm for a couple of minutes, then tissue off the excess and apply Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in the shade Naked* all over the lips, it’s simple, pretty and fresh. When I want a pop of colour, I reach for Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie. It has a balm texture, it’s sheer but adds just the perfect tint to the lips.
My latest nail polish favourite is Rimmel Salon Pro in Oh, Mr. Darcy! which I’ve been wanting for years and now I finally have it in my collection. Yes, it looks similar to Essie‘s Sand Tropez but I just love such shades.
Lately, I’ve been using Mark Hill‘s Big Night Out Gloss Treatment and I’m surprised. I didn’t think it’s that good. It contains Argan Oil and you have to leave it for just a minute after shampooing your hair, just like a regular conditioner. It smells really nice, makes my hair soft and shiny and you don’t need much product to get great results.
Mirins Copenhagen and their Aromatherapy Perfume Rollers are something really special. They enhance your mood and can calm you down or make you feel more energetic, for example. My spring choice is Happiness* because it smells really citrus-y thanks to the Sweet Orange and Grapefruit Essential Oils. I apply a bit on my wrists when I’m at home or outside stuck in the traffic, it’s refreshing for your body and soul.
