I’ve been wanting to try this mascara since the day I learned a mini size would be available with the March issue of ELLE UK. I’ve never tried anything from Benefit before because the brand is not available in Norway and it’s quite difficult to get their products here, so I can’t compare the new product to They’re Real!
Luckily, my last minute London trip happened at the same time as the latest issue hit news stands.
I got one and after I tried the product, I had to stock up on this mini mascara because I simply loved it and the full size wasn’t available in stores by the time I had to leave the city.
I’ve been using the Benefit Roller Lash Super-Curling & Lifting Mascara every single day for almost two weeks and it’s now one of my favourite mascaras. Actually, I don’t understand all the negative reviews that I’m seeing because I’ve been wearing it for even more than 10-12 hours a day and it looked as if I just applied it but I guess it works different on different people.
The mascara comes with a rubber-y brush that is slightly curved. It’s an innovative product because of the Hook’n’Roll brush with patent-pending hook design to catch, lift and curl the lashes. It’s a tiny brush which for me is perfect because the hooks can grab every lash and reach even the corners of the eyes.
I didn’t think I’d be so impressed by the mascara with the first application, I even showed up in front of my boyfriend with just one eye with mascara and he thought the result was amazing, too. I have to say I don’t usually like new mascaras because the formula gets better after drying out a little. Maybe that’s why the first day my lashes felt a bit crispy and it was disappointing but it never happened again.
I’m adding some photos although the lashes look much better in real life and I always struggle more with one of the eyes (can’t be the only one). Hopefully, you see how well the mascara separates the lashes with no clumps, smudges and fallouts. It lifts and holds the curl throughout the day, it’s just lovely. It lengthens as well but if you’re looking for more volume, you won’t see it which for me, personally, is not a problem. I like that it’s really black and you can build it up to a more dramatic look. It requires a bit of an effort to remove it at the end of the day but it’s nothing too scary.
I think this mascara is just wonderful and I’m happy that I got 3 more of the mini ones. The brush grabs the perfect amount of product without being overloaded, really separates, curls and lengthens the lashes and stays in place all day. I like the effect even with just one coat of mascara applied only on my top lashes. What more can I want?
