Winter is the time when we apply all types of hydrating products on our face, body and hair. I’m a fan of multi-purpose moisturisers and I own quite a few, so I was very excited when a new product landed on my desk.
It’s a British launch and some people in the UK may already know about it and have it through beauty boxes for example. Since I live in Norway and winter can be quite a challenge for my skin, I was very happy to be able to try the new multi-tasker.
#LipGlam* is a natural lip balm that is free from colourants, parabens and additives and contains natural lanolin. Lanolin is one of nature’s finest oils, locks the moisture in your skin and comes from sheep’s wool. It’s extracted after the sheep has been shorn so it doesn’t harm the sheep.
But this product is not just a lip balm because you can also use it on your elbows, cuticles, eyebrows, split hair ends and on all dry patches that you have. This moisturiser comes in a 12 ml tube that is perfect to throw in your bag. Plus you need the tiniest amount of it, so it will last you a long time.
The packaging is really pretty – white with gold details. It has a tip that you can use for application but I often use my clean fingers or a cotton bud to get product.
The product is without any fragrance, the texture is thick and sticky at first but once it’s distributed on your skin and warms up, it really feels like a balm.
It’s suggested to put the tube in hot water for about a minute if the product is cold or hard but I just warm it between the palms of my hands and then I can squeeze it easier. #LipGlam* promises to restore skin’s natural barrier and to give you 8-hour moisture which is actually true. I apply a layer of the product on my lips and use it as an overnight treatment. When I wake up on the next morning, I still have lip balm on my lips and they feel hydrated and soft. I wear it in the day as well, mostly on its own because it’s a bit shiny on the lips and makes them look more plump or tissue off the excess and put a lipstick on. Even if I drink or eat, it lasts very long time, so basically I need to apply it only 2-3 times a day.
In the winter my knuckles can get dry, flaky, they even bleed and it’s really painful. I like the soothing feeling of #LipGlam* when I apply it on this area. It’s not stingy or irritating, it just nourishes my skin and my knuckles feel and look much better at the end of the day.
It also softens my cuticles and elbows. Sometimes I even use it as a clear brow gel and I need a very very small amount of it.
Personally, I think the name doesn’t do justice to the product because to me it’s actually a treatment and not just a lip balm. You can even use it on burns and insect bites and it’s great because it doesn’t irritate your skin.
Overall, for me this is the perfect winter handbag essential. It’s also affordable and natural. Have you tried #LipGlam?
