These beauties have been on my wishlist for a very long time. Something more, I wanted them in exactly these two shades that you see here – 630 Nude Perfection and 210 Keep it classy. In fact, I may be wanting 140 Minimalist now.

When I saw Kali‘s post reviewing the same shades, I couldn’t contain my excitement and I wanted them even more! The problem? Nude perfection was always out of stock in Norway and Keep it classy had production issues and was delayed, I was assured that it will be in stores late November but here we are in December and there is still no sign of it. Luckily, my family decided to make me a small present and they sent me the desired shades! How amazing is that?!

Maybelline Colour Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil in 630 Nude Perfection is a really pretty and sophisticated nude. Perfect for every day and all year round. It goes matte and it’s a little bit on the dry side, so I recommend using a lip balm before applying the pencil. I tried it with and without lip balm underneath and it didn’t dry my lips out but the application is more difficult without moisturising before using the pencil.

210 Keep it classy is a deep pink shade, almost plum-y (although it looks much lighter in the bullet) and has a hint of shine to it. It’s much more creamy than Nude perfection and glides easily even without using lip balm. You can notice the difference even by the swatches above. I love such shades although this one is a little bit brighter than what I normally use which means it isn’t completely in my comfort zone but it’s so pretty and flattering!

They last around 4 hours if I don’t drink/eat and less than an hour if I do. Honestly, I expected to need reapplying them more often, so I’m surprised and impressed by the lasting power.
I also like the packaging of these products, simple and pretty. I’ve been wearing them almost every day since I got them and they still don’t need sharpening.
Sometimes I top them with a gloss (Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 06 Rosewood Shimmer on top of Nude perfection is just dreamy) but they’re lovely by themselves, as well.

I love these pencils – the pigmentation is great, the consistency is really nice, the shade range is beautiful. Might need some more of them.

What do you think of these lip pencils?
